Re: Anyone else watching Obi-Wan Kenobi?(Spoiler thread)
Man the scale of this show is tiny. Best episode yet but still terrible cinematography. Blaster battles within 20ft, speeders and ships having to be in the same shot with the scale and CGI matching looking terible. Too lazy? Or they ran out of money to do some far shots and get more angles of the ba...

Re: Babylon 5 Reboot
Biggest issue is that it's for the CW. Just compare something like Doom Patrol to the current batch of CW superhero shows, there's no comparison, the CW is terrible. This needs to be on a no limits streaming platform.

Re: The Mandalorian Discussion Thread (spoilers and such)
So if the outlaw base was impossible to reach on foot...how come the Mandalorian made it back to his ship on foot (with a hovering toddler in tow no less) just fine? For whatever reason there seems to be circuitry in the chest armour (which took quite a beating in the encounter with the Rhino thing...

Re: The Mandalorian Discussion Thread (spoilers and such)
I usually give a bit of leeway on pilots as they are usually shot well before the series and then they find their groove. Huge potential but need to remember Favreau is very old school and hoping Filoni can keep it Star Warsy. Trying too hard to be spaghetti western I hope calms down after first epi...

Re: Game Of Thrones: Final Season --SPOILERS!
Will have to see how this pans out in the books, because the material that "inspired" this was done way better. Spoilers, their Winterfell gets owned in record time, that it's a shock to the whole world. Between this and Endgame, really disappointing major set pieces, and without a PG-13 l...

Re: Ready Player One film (spoilers)
Way too dumbed down and predictable, even changing deaths or any real consquence for typical popcorn ending. Potential wasted on hollow joyride.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi release thread (spoilers)
Don't get the whole Skywalkers need to go or less of family saga. There's plenty of other and if anything more power non Skywalker force users. What's Yoda's lineage? Palpatine, these aren't some immaculate conception beings, there's plenty of non Skywalker force users, why it is being thrown around...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi release thread (spoilers)
I would put much stock into the direction ships veer off when getting destroyed, considered running out of fuel makes a ship tumble for some reason.

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi release thread (spoilers)
Really disappointing. ADHD film making has taken over. No tension, no dread, problem to solution instantly, skip world building or characterization. Superweapon #281731, it's ok we'll send one or two to disable it after 30 seconds of deliberation and no explanation why they have this information. Sa...

When I first saw the thread title all I could think of is adding, "is bad." It's not funny enough to be satire or parody, and not serious enough to be a real drama, just in a crappy middleground.

It would be a big no no writing wise if Arya is Littlefinger, because of the scene of her following him. They are rushing things but don't think they are that desperate.

Re: Game of Thrones season seven trailer.
Season is going to way too fast. Taking major homesteads like they are nothing. Understand budget concerns but still draw them out a bit, instead of instant teleporting to major castles ignoring the rest of the land. In other seasons they at least made it seems like a long grind and haul and huge sa...

Can see all the influences it had on modern scifi, but it also had all the bad Lucas style stuff. Bad dialogue and cheesiness, and was just disjointed, they tried to do too much and sacrificed plot and character development.

Surprised they didn't do a reference to AT-ATs shooting speeders out of the air, needed a General Veers moment.

Re: Would A New Hope still hold up today?
While I'd say that ANH made today would be popular, I'm not sure it would be as much of a modern classic as it's today, as much of the initial popularity of ANH was a result of when it came out. Also how bad shots Stormtroopers are in the OT has been overblown, sure they miss but when they miss the...

Probably be even better, considering the reactions to Vader showing what force powered individuals can really do. Hopefully Stormtroopers won't need to be as bad shots either in a modern take, with cover and grittier tactics of modern battle choreography.

Re: Agents of SHIELD Season 4
I thought the rush to show time has passed was too lazy. Don't get why they have to get that over with right away instead of letting it naturally play out. Ghost Rider was done well, only part I disliked was the intro of his car. The RPG flipping the car into the air with a 3D slo mo moment was real...

Re: Unarmored Space Marine vs. MCU Captain America
Space Marines are known to take small arms fire and continue fighting. I think Captain America gets shot or grazed once by the Winter Soldier and once by the Chitauri. I can't remember if his suit is bulletproof or not but he was winded by the Chitauri gun. Winter Soldier hits him with a pistol agai...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Looking better, just one part really has my Mary Sue alerts going. The TIE fighter hovering in front of Jyn, she better not go 1on1 with a TIE with a blaster pistol and win. Guess one more thing is they don't seem to be doing much spying or infiltrating so far, would think it would be dangerous to b...

Wonder Woman looks and sounds a lot better at this point, Justice League seems to be trying too hard to be "fun". Hope they do show a bit of why he's gathering a team and show some bad guys next trailer round.

Re: General Police Abuse Thread
The incident in Minnesota is devastating. The officer is clearly unhinged. I am surprised how calm and focused Diamond Reynolds (the woman who recorded the live-video) is compared with the officer. This is really heart-breaking to watch. This officer is really going to have to be crucified publicly...

Re: New DK Publishing Complete Locations Book (September 2016)
Never understood unknown regions when you can travel at the speeds they show. Maybe on an outer spiral but almost the whole western quadrant is unexplored after thousands of years? Warhammer and the like have excuses like warp storms etc, what's stopping Star Wars universe exploration?

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere. In the comic Shattered Empire #4 Luke and Poe Dameron's mother steal back "force trees" from an imperial base, one is planted on Poe's home planet, the other for Luke's new Jedi Temple. Speculation on if Rey is Poe's sister or the trees somehow influence...
