I don't think its in question we could build the blast shield without testing though if it was just allowed to be very heavy, we aren't really talking about structural requirements higher then face hardened battleship armor crossed with a forged nuclear pressure vessel lid. If you can forge it all ...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Alpha strike torp boats are kind of ludicrous. I've seen some vids with HY/torp spreads hitting for 100 to 200k. Grab the sci ultimate and stack as much crtd as possible and you can pretty much one shot most everything. I am trying to build a pure torp boat/no energy weapons and even on my AOY toon ...

What I'm really trying to do now is have as many omnidirectional beam arrays on my ship as possible. A pure omnidirectional beam boat with fighters would be wonderful. Sadly, you can only equip up to 3 omnidirectional beam arrays: Kinetic cutting beam, crafted omnibeam array of your favorite flavor...

Even if you hate reddit, they still have some good advice: https://www.reddit.com/r/stobuilds/comments/44shye/poor_mans_apu_cruiser_build_thoughts/ As promised here's my setup: http://imgur.com/a/u0BMG ...

The admiralty system is a great way to get more specialization xp for specialization points plus it gives dil, ec, and other stuff. Each ship you own has an associated admiralty card, which you can use to complete various tasks for the various factions. Its like the doff assignments but for your ships

If you haven't already and can afford it, buy a ship upgrade token so you get a beefier hull, shields and an extra console slot. If you're going with a pure budget beam boat build, here's some free decent gear: -Sphere of Influence mission for Ancient Obelisk Warp Core and Ancient Omnidirectional An...

The Na'kuhl personal shield has a really nifty 10 sec invulnerability mode that kicks in every minute when shields are 10% or below. Armor and weapon aren't anything to write home about, but the set bonuses include crit chance and severity and a clicky power. I know its not exactly the greatest at t...

I pity the newbie who has to do all those reputation quests to max out their character. On another note, anyone thinks the gear from the temporal operative set is good? That's just it though. I've been cycling through to the least populated instances on Risa this past weekend and it didn't seem to help too much with the frequent disconnects and server not responding messages. So I've given up and am just popping in for a couple minutes to get my prize vouchers. Thi...

Its probably an RTG for perhaps an ion engine. I doubt it will be a nuclear thermal rocket, but if it is then maybe it'll kick off another space race?

If thats the case, then you can still have nuclear powered steam engines/radioisotope generators for locomotion. Or is nuclear energy out as well?
