Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
Not necessarily. He could decide that he could take over and run the whole show himself and declare himself Emperor. To do that, though, he'd first need some information, which brings us right back to boarding the Enterprise and capturing it relatively intact...

Eh, the Saratoga is always blown up. I'm sure Starfleet has stopped taking that personal by now.

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
Huh, good point. It actually wouldn't be a huge effort to get Picard himself to show them around the ship and talk all about what the Enterprise is and isn't capable of. Hell, maybe the Rogue Trader and his entourage could even sneak a teleport homer on board?

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
Still a failure. If they fire a single starhawk's munitions at the Enterprise, it's gone, there won't be enough of it left to fill a thimble. These things, in squadrons can destroy 40K ships, and there's no indications they have dial-a-yeild. So, it is a failure to board. Hmm, that's what I suspect...

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
So... basically a krak grenade is an antitank shaped charge that you emplace on the target by hand, and a meltagun is a big nasty energy weapon gun that runs on technobabble. Okay, we already knew that. I was just pointing that out, as I read a comment by you comparing it to a bazooka, when a melta...

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
So the general consensus is that the Fury Interceptor is totally useless against the Enterprise-E? D'OH! How boring! :P How about if we changed it a bit? Instead of 4 squadrons of Fury Interceptors, we made it 2 squadrons of Fury Interceptors and 2 squadrons of Starhawk Bombers? That's something whi...

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
Here're a couple questions: 1) Can lascannon fire overcome the shields on the Enterprise-E? 2) Can the Scions be contained with force fields, or are their power fists/meltaguns/Krak grenades powerful enough to take down those force fields? 3) If they aren't, can they use their power fists/meltaguns/...

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
Could explain to us who don't have the spare cash to buy every single WH40K codex what is the weaponary of a single Fury and how much there is per squad 20 Fury Interceptors total, each armed with a number of lascannons as depicted in the image below and 4 anti-starfighter missiles. http://img3.wik...

Re: Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
Scions are just renamed Stormtroopers/Kasrkin, while Tempestors are the equivalent of their Veteran Sergeants (Although Tempestor Prime are 2 Wound HQ's). Militarum Tempestus Scions Vs. the Enterprise-E
The Scenario: A wormhole appears and a Dictator Class Cruiser captained by a Rogue Trader is sucked into it and deposited into the Star Trek universe somewhere along the Neutral Zone between the Federation and the Romulan Empire. It's then discovered by a Starfleet vessel (Let's say the Saratoga). ...

Yeah, both Terra and Macragge at least have thriving pilgrim/tourist industries, which sounds funny to say when talking about the 40k universe.

Well, to be fair, if he did vanish from existence that would certainly create enough confusion to stop a WAAAGH! in its tracks. The text is consistent with either interpretation, and ork warlords are certainly thick enough to "reason" their way into a course of action that will erase them...

Warhammer 40,000 and Time Travel
There's a passage from the recent Codex: Orks which has left me wondering, so I thought I'd put it out there and let you all decide what to make of it. 978.M41 The Lost Waaagh! The Ork Warlord Grizgutz, a noted kleptomaniac, launches his Waaagh! into the Morloq system. Whilst using Warp travel to re...

Re: Laughable "response" videos to this website on YouTube
I guess it's easier to say 'They say Trek loses! They're biased!' than actually look at what goes on on the board, which would result in them finding out that-a lot of us are pretty serious Trek fans, even the ones that agree that Wars would beat Trek like nobody's business disagree about what 'nob...

Re: Celebrating 20 Years of DS9
Yeah, the Circle three-parter was fantastic. And I loved the character of Lee Nalis. Duet was amazing as well. Personally I thought DS9's first season ended really strongly. I can't think of any other Star Trek show that did so well with the end of its first season, or which have episodes that can s...

Re: Borg Tactics to take over the Alpha Quadrant
The Borg's assimilation of Romulan colonies would have gained them knowledge of cloaking tech, the reason they didn't go after the Federation in force is because they were on the other side of the Galaxy, in order to properly assimilate them and defend their new conquests from attack from other AQ ...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
All I can say is this: Episode VII will be worthless to me if we don't get a definitive explanation for the red stripes on Han's trousers. That was the style back in the day on Alderaan. Sadly for Han when the Empire blew up Alderaan they didn't just commit genocide, but destroyed a fashion trend i...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
First, most movies take place on Earth, so its a lot easier to find an appropriate location for the film. Star Wars on the other hand is Sci-Fi. Even Fantasy movies are easier, because those still predominately take place in terrestrial envoronments. Second of all, CGI just keeps getting cheaper. T...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
Do you realize how expensive real sets are to make? Especially sets of alien worlds like Degobah? Hell, if you read up on the filming of Empire, you would also know that practical effects can be really hard to work with on top of being expensive. Or read up on ANH and the difficulties of shooting i...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
It doesn't matter how old Mark Hamill is if the script calls for an old Luke Skywalker. Schwarzenegger is coming back to do Conan, for instance. If that script called for a young Conan beginning his adventures then that'd be a problem, but it doesn't. It calls for an older Conan who's already become...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
Well, there's a difference between using CGI when necessary and making a CGI porn film, a la Episodes I-III. If the story calls for it, using CGI to make the actors look younger like what they did with Bridges and Boxleitner in Tron: Legacy wouldn't be a bad idea. Not to mention that I'm sure many m...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
Disney brought back Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner for Tron Legacy. And age didn't stop Lucas from bringing Christopher Lee into the prequels. I'm not suggesting that the original cast will do the heavy lifting, but I can't see Disney passing up the chance to bring them back just because they're...

Re: Star Wars: 2015
It depends on the plot. If Episode VII occurs 30 years after Return of the Jedi then they'd be perfectly fine. That would probably also be the best way to go. The galaxy settled into a relative peace for that time, then things blow up, and bam, here comes an older, wiser, and more powerful Luke Skyw...

Re: Disney to acquire Lucasfilm
Ok, this is completely wishful thinking on my part and I know it will never happen, but I would love it if Disney were to have the balls to redo the prequels and release special edition versions of them. The word you're looking for is "reboot". As miniscule a chance of that ever occuring,...
