I had that feeling too, but to my mind it seemed like I really predicted the future for half a minute or so.
Very weird, but also very cool feeling.

Re: Math question thread
Not so much a formula question, but more a math rule question. if you take the square root of -4, you would end up with an imaginary number. However, if you write it as (-4)^(2/4), and then rewrite it to become the fourth root of (-4)^2 you'll end up with the fourth root of 16, which is 2 or -2. I h...

Am I the only one having issues with underwater light-saber use?
Ok, I am willing to go as far as agree that they could still work underwater. But was it too much to ask to have a constant flow of bubbles coming from it or something? The things look exactly like they work in air.

Re: Religious Belief and Uncertainty
As a former Christian I have noticed that when uncertainties stack up some things, a belief in God in this case, cannot stand up anymore. And these uncertainties grow exponentially once contradictions arise. As for politic issues, I agree that the best thing is to delve deep into the material if you...

I find issue with the fact that she found issue that people thinking teen pregnancy is ruins your life. Out of all the things said I thought that was the least thing to find issue with. I have a feeling that she's anti-abortion. I took me three tries to get what you said. I got the idea from...

What if the shaft didn't lead to the reactor, but was just a nifty 'enemy disposal unit'. I can imagine Sidious using it to throw his enemies in and have them incinerated at the end or something.
And maybe he was able to stop his fall down the shaft, but the disposal unit still got him.

Re: Shroud of the Dark Side
This looks very interesting, and I agree with Shannon that Palpatine/Sidious could have had a hand in lifting the veil. In regards of Mace Windu, and I think also for Anakin. Since Windu is a user of Vapaad and Anakin is slowly slipping over to the dark side (and regularly partly falling to it durin...

Re: Thought Exercise, how do you think timetravel changes his
When the changes you make in history create the future you already had, you will most likely run into the problem that B5B7 mentioned. The time traveler knows what has happened in the future so he should be able to alter stuff. The problem I have with the 'Butterfly Effect' is that once a someone mo...

Re: Did you ever "feel god"?
I can't say I have ever felt God. Being raised christian I have asked several (christian) friends about it, and they seem to have felt God at certain times in their life or even feel him often. Recently, while attending a conference about developments in medical technology, I did feel a momentous se...

Suppose you have two objects in a perfect vacuum (where there is no friction) attached to each other with a wire. Object 1 can instill a force on object 2 (for instance by shoving it away), because of Newton's 3rd law both objects will move away from each other, keeping the center of the total syste...

Re: Force Absorb vs Force Drain
I'm not sure how Absorb would counter Drain, though. Drain doesn't have output to speak of; it steals energy from a target. I don't think there'd be anything for Absorb to work with here. If Force Drain is anything like leeching, you could say that the Force Drain power enters the targetted body an...

Re: Car crashes into Dutch royal parade
The current death toll is now 7, a member of the marechaussee died in the hospital. The Royal family will attend at the 4th and 5th may (remebrance day and liberation day) The disaster was (and is) a real shock for us, a lot the festivities were immideately stopped. I would have liked the driver to ...

what about light traveling in and out of the bubble, since light travels slower inside the bubble, the concentration of light increases. the concetration would then become as relatively high as the time difference. for instance: if time is 100.000 slower, the concentration of light would be 100.000 ...

To tell you the truth placing someone in a liquid is the worst treatment for Hypothermia. The best treatment is to warm them slowly.
