Re: Ep7 Reviews (Spoilers)
I just saw this movie, and all my worst fears came true. I'd managed to stay relatively clear of any SW discussion until I'd seen the movie, so I didn't really know how the fans felt about it. I'm horrified that this movie gets so much praise, from fans no less. I'm with Elfdart and Shep, this movie...

Re: Finnish demands for collateral from Greece under threat
At this point I say we northern countries with actually working economies should just pull out of the EU and form a new bloc. Unfortunately that's just about impossible now, being so entangled in the EU.

Re: Early SW Atlas info
I got a reply from Jason Fry, co-author of the Atlas, after I sent an email asking about the decision to include the Unknown Regions: Hey, thanks for your note. Sorry to hear of your disappointment. I won't argue with your logic, but Dan and I were bound by a large amount of Expanded Universe inform...

I'm not surprised they included got a huge Unknown Regions, but I really, really wish they hadn't.

Re: stormtrooper organization help?
The ISB tells us this: Stormtroopers and the Order of Battle Stormtroopers technically do fit into the Order of Battle. But these elite troops continue to be a source of mystery to the regular army, even at the level of their organization. The major difference seems to be the complete lack of suppor...

Re: [SD.net EU Database] Rebel Alliance Sourcebook
It could be that the bulk of the Mon Calamari defense fleet had limited hyperdive restricting it to the Mon Cal Sector, much like the Mandator-class of the Kuat Sector defense fleet. Thereby the entire long-range Rebel fleet being at Endor. Still, Mon Cal remains an oddity, much like Hapes (which ca...

Re: Minimalism part two
I like to interpret that there being only 25,000+ ISD's meant that’s how many Imperial-Class Star Destroyers were built and put into service. I always hoped that the Imperial-class SD's were used in missions, which require more flexibility such as hunting Rebels all over the Galaxy. Then the real b...

Re: Minimalism part two
For what it's worth, TCSWE says that over 25,000 ISDs were built, with half of them stationed in the Core as reserves. The first SWSB also says about 10% of the entire Imperial Navy was in the Core on reserve, so that means about 90% (about 12,500 ISDs and with plenty of non-ISD ships) are statione...

The Vulcan pro-Romulus lobby does make more sense of Ambassador Nanclus' presence during conversations he shouldn't be hearing in ST:TUC. A bit.

Star Destroyer registries?
Browsing through the SWTC I stumbled upon this: "The hull number of the star destroyer Entor (CVS 1049) indicates either that in excess of a thousand star destroyers of this class have been built, or that this is the 1049th built by its particular shipyard." The Entor is the Star Destroyer...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the rebels were still rebels up to the liberation of Coruscant, what? five years after RotJ? So any role she took would still be inside the rebel alliance and/or it's shadow goverment. A constitutional convention was held in the months following ROTJ that reformed the go...

Re: Princess Leia's position
I'm inclined to agree with all your points pertaining to the Princess, thanks for clearing that up. However; The objection that she does not take a more active role in operations in the Alderaan Sector is not a valid one. In the first place, the Alderaani faction of the Alliance is not a Sector Comm...

Princess Leia's position
Princess Leia was high ranking member of the Rebel Alliance, but in what capacity did she serve post-ANH/pre-Bakura? So far all I've come across are the things she wasn't; She was not a councillor on the Advisory Council, although the position was offered to her. She was not a member of the Cabinet....

Oh man, I hope there's not gonna be a huge swath of blank territory with Unknown Regions printed on it.. During AOTC, all of the galaxy was obviously known with *ahem* at least one exception. After the Empire fell, the maps were intentionally destroyed and the rebels/NR/many more/ no longer had dat...

I'm wondering if in this scenario the Moon never existed, or it was stolen away (somehow, Alien Space Bats?) after it had been present for some time? If the giant impact hypothesis holds true, Theia not hitting Earth would quite possibly mean no life at all, and Theia hitting Earth in such a way tha...
