I feel compelled to observe that it very much serves the interests of Evil to make compelling arguments concerning its own nonexistance. Or to put it another way (And paraphrase Verbal Kent who was himself quoting Voltaire, I think..?) The greatest trick the Dark Side ever pulled was convincing the ...

Wouldnt the fact that the Force spontaneously acted to concieve Anakin (as the one who would restore its balance) seem to imply a conciousness on some level ?

The Dark Side , at least according to the Lucas audio commentary, is stronger. An argument could be made that the proof is in the pudding, however: ultimately, it is the Light which prevails overall, thus demonstrating its superiority. Personally, I believe that Vader found the right button to push ...

I don't believe in Christmas and I don't give or get presents over said holiday. Every present I have ever gotten from my parents I knew where it came from because I usually helped them pick it out and watched them buy it, or was given cash with which I bought my own present. You profess to be Chri...

Tractor beam questions

Anybody have any information as to the range/towing capacity (I guess) of a Star Destroyer's main tractor beam emitters? A friend of mine asked me and I honestly had no idea what to tell him.Any help would be appreciated.

I loved tabletop battletech (this was back in the day before the computer game series), although we always used mniatures and crafted our own terrain. Its amazing the landscapes you can build using two 4x8 sawhorse tables and some styrofoam terrain pieces.

Here's another set of good ones; warning labels this time

In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed through stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods: On Sears hairdryer: Do not use while sleeping. On a bag of Fritos: You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside. On a bar of Dial soap: Directi...

Falwell and his like have been demonizing America's opponent du jour since the Soviet era. Now the target happens to be Islam, and I am not a bit surprised to see the very same bilous hate-mongering horseshit that he's beeen spouting for years redirected to it.I grew up in a Southern Baptist church,...
