Re: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" remake on the works

Regardless, the original statement was made in the context of having Cameron, a modified Terminator model from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, fight Buffy. Which, without First Slayer Power(which means she needs three people backing her up), would pretty much end with Buffy being squashed....

Re: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" remake on the works

I think there was a thread where River fought one of the mini-Slayers, I forget which one it was (Dana? The crazy chick from Angel S5).

Star Trek's reboot at least could be justified because all the characters are old or dead :/

Re: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" remake on the works

Inside a similar article about this : The idea behind the new reboot is to maintain the show's mythology while introducing a new slayer and Hellmouth-threatened group of pals, building on the idea that each generation has its own vampire slayer. This seems to raise more questions than answers. I mea...

There's always the possibility that Summer Glau wanders in during Season 2 and replaces "that guy nobody liked" ala Ronon Dex.

Summer Glau? A normal, unmodified, completely average mortal? Allison from Palmdale will probably be called as a Slayer or something at the end of S03E03. I wouldn't even be surprised.

Re: nBSG ep 4.19: "Daybreak" pt 1 Talkback (SPOILERS)

The naked singularity would seem to imply that the Cylon base is actually inside the Event Horizon of the Black Hole. Since we know almost nothing about the jump drive, it's entirely possible that this is actually the case. Of course, its also entirely possible that it's just writers wanking to term...

More than anything else, this week illustrated just how batshit insane the fleet has gone. Baltar smoking the ciggie as the whole circus went on was classic.

Well then, if a few dozen megatons warhead screws up so many systems on a regular Hive that McKay can't even find something to overload, then the ZPM must turn the Hive Ship into a Star Wars vessels for it to survive several multi-gigaton hits. That's what I'm trying to say. I wonder how ...

Re: Superconductors, Stealth vs. ECM/ECCM in Space

The assumed target has an atmosphere, which the iceballs are too small to survive reentry in. That's how there are so many. Then compact them together. Or cover them with a layer of something that won't burn away as fast. Compacting them together sort of defeats the point of having a lot of them. C...

Re: Superconductors, Stealth vs. ECM/ECCM in Space

The only way I can think of stealth in space is with space stations/colonies and the old shell game. Mine a bunch of asteroids and comets. At a later date build hidden bases in some of them. The enemy is kept guessing as to which are abandoned, which are civilian colonies, and which are military ba...

Re: Superconductors, Stealth vs. ECM/ECCM in Space

Would it be possible (I'm not saying in any way easily feasible, just possible) to use a laser as your means of propulsion (photon momentum) to prevent your reaction mass giving you away, and to put your engine at the focal point of a large parabolic infrared light mirror so that all the infrared li...

Re: Stargate stargates vs. EVE ONLINE's stargates

I was considering things from a more high end point of view, where a civ was maxed out enough to be getting the full use out of its Eve Gate (essentially dumping crap through constantly), not to mention that with no other FTL an Eve Gate is the only way to move a battleship system to system short of...

The sad thing is, I was like: "No way is Helo the voice of reason! I mean, he's not a bad chap, but he's never been exactly quick on the uptake either, and he's fumbled a few balls; there must be someone better. Maybe... no wait, now he seems hell-bent on killing off the Cylons; possibly... no,...

Re: Stargate stargates vs. EVE ONLINE's stargates

Given the blinding speed of even third-rate SGverse hyperdrives as a given for ships, I'd take SGverse Stargates because they're so handy for transfer of information and VIP/light population/high value trade goods traffic. In a universe with no Hyperdrive, I'd probably take Eve Gates because mountin...

In case anyone still cares, spoilers ahoy! The Colonials and Cylons root around Earth, and discover that, in fact, it was nuked 2000 years ago. Roslin burns her prophecy book and cries. Starbuck looks for the source of the signal, finds that it's her downed raptor, with a corpse with her dog tags in...

So it appears that instead of being a Cylon, Starbuck instead can miraculously come back from the dead. Or its a huge hoax, which isn't all that unlikely.

And wouldn't Tigh recognize Kara in that case Fisher?

Though I liked bits and pieces of the other Seasons as well, I felt the strongest episodes of the show were "The Storm" and "The Siege" multi-parters, so I have to go with Season 1.

So, the thing that honestly got me, is when did Ronin get a girlfriend? I'm pretty sure I watched every episode this Season, and I didn't recognize her at ALL. I mean, there she is with the whole gang, in the final shot of the series, Jennifer, Rodney, John, Teyla, Woolsey, Beckett, Ronin, and Ronin...

Re: SGA 5x19 "Vegas" Talkback (Spoilers)

I really liked it as a standalone, though I'm conflicted on if it should have been the penultimate episode. This was perhaps on of Shepard's best episodes, and I felt that one sort of subtle message was that this John actually WAS different from our John. In this reality, John got his team killed tr...
