Too bad that sex act will be pretty much like the one of the Black Widow male.

Impressive.

Nice use of lighting and reflections...gives a very good Giger feel.

Horribly amazing! You should make a mural of a Queen Alien on your school's wall or something.

The claws on the hands need some work and the teeth, they should be whiter.

And some people say that Blender isn't useful for much of anything...

I fucking hate you. I can't even figure out how to do a God damn Tyrell Pyramid other than the basic outer shape...

:P

Fantastic job, though. The texturing is in particular beautiful.

Never mind :)

The first thing i've ever tried in blender was a Perry Rhodan ship .. one of those globes with a torus to the equator.

It looked awful ^^

I also tried to do a alien drone very early and it was a mess and a real failure. But with time comes experience and parallel to that better results.

You've got more than 14000 posts in this board spanky ... every post needed at least 1 min to do, so thats more than 200h of just typing.

Do less posts and more rendering and soon you will be able to create nice results.

You just have to reach the point where you gonna be proud of some of your work and then you become addicted ^^

Actually, my biggest problem right now isn't time. Right now it's how damn counter-intuituve Blender (and other 3D modeller programmes) is. All I really know how to do is create and manipulate basic shapes and forms, because the developers apparently thought that making their programmes easy to use was a waste of time.

I mean, seriously, do they HAVE to make these damn things so freaking hard to understand? Why can't I just do what I want to? How the hell am I supposed to do anything? Why the fuck doesn't this programme allow one to input actual UNITS of MEASUREMENT rather than guageing crap by eye? Huh? Is that too difficult of a concept, developers? Or is it too EASY?

And the hell I'm going to spend $45 on a manual for a FREE programme...

Sorry for the rant. Not directed at you at all.

Antares: In time you'll get used to Spanky. He's gelous on every good graphician on this board. But it's not saying anything with bad intentions That's his usual way to post here. Was a little difficult for me too in the early days, but I got used to the situation.

if you got trouble using blender, i can show you a thing or two that makes life with blender a lot easier. PM me or write me an email to antaressith@gmx.de

for example for my queen i used a very easy modelling technique. if you are interested i can compile some examples and send it to you.

also visit the blender community site:
www.elysiun.com and especially the board there.

this link is also very helpfull:
http://download.blender.org/documentation/html/

before buying something better use the "for free" stuff :)

I think Blender is awesome for a free (and now opensource I think) rendering program. I stopped using it before it went public and stuff, so I don't know how nice is it becoming lately.

What I kinda don't like is the incompatibility problems with older video cards... makes it a bitch to actually distribute the real-time engine thingy.
