Army reenlistment

Post by dragon »

Well I went and did what I said I wouldn't do I reenlisted. I am now stuck in the Army into 2011, oh god the horror. . A few picture of the reenlistment down at o dark 30 right before a short training exercise. Not to good of photos but thats what happens when you let the PV2 take the pictures. And it looks so funny with half the company with tan boots and the other half with black ones. Its even more funny now that about 10% of the company have the new ACU which are greyish.

The short, heavy set person on the right is me and the skinny person that looks like a kid is actually my company Captain.

So you're in for the long haul. Good luck.

Why was it set at night?

It wasn't... it was in the morning. Glad I don't have to get up that early...

I know a guy who also said a million times he would not sign up for longer
when his Air Force time was done. He did of course, Maybe I recall it wrong, but I think he mentioned a bonus given if he did. Perhaps I'm thinking of the wrong story...

We had a recent news article that said the DoD withheld the bonuses. So dragon, were one of the lucky ones to receive it?
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Nope no bonus for me. I only reenlisted so I could keep my IPCOT which would allow me to stay in Germany for another 3 years. This would allow my wife to finish her Ph'd next year and for me to fininsh my masters by next summer.
