A funeral picture

Post by sparrowtm »

Last month, a good friend of mine died of cancer. While this is of course
tragic, some of us came up with an unusual idea for his wreath. He was
once a professional Quake-3 player, and they thought this design would
be fitting (Quake players will recognize it):

I sure hope the guy that passed away was a huge fan of Quake.

Poor guy. May he rest in peace!

Nice wreath btw; somehow I knew this was Quake-related before I saw the pic. Hope he liked Quake 2, because that's the logo y'all have on his stone and as the wreath.

He was fanatic about all Quake versions released so far, so I take it he won't mind if it's the Quake 2 logo. He was also called "Fragman" by his friends, not Frank. :)

And it took only one year for him to die after he heard his diagnosis. A nice and fitting quote that comes from the ceremony was: "Sometimes it is better to burn out than to fade away."

Still, I firmly believe he'd say "woah, kickass!" if he saw that wreath. :D
