[STTOS] Courier class (with deckplans) WIP

Post by Bounty »

I'm currently fixing up and finishing this ship, but thought I might as well post my progress so far and maybe get some feedback.

The Courier class is a 23rd century counterpart to the Danube/Defiant, in that she's a small support craft assigned to a colony or starbase. This class of ship is mainly designed to give starbase personnel a bit more freedom of movement, allowing them to perform scientific studies in-system without calling in a starship, defend themselves against pirates and provide limited cargo/supply shipping ability.

She carries a crew of 34 (10 officers, 24 crewmen including research staff) with an autonomy of about 3 months and a top speed of Wf 6 (5 cruise). Standard shields, one forward phaser bank, no torpedoes.

The angular cargo hold was sorta-inspired by the SS Huron.

ETA: and I got the idea for the deckplans, as well as some of the internals, from the deckplans of that very ship.

If you have any questions, remarks, glaring omissions, rants, whines, whatever, go ahead.

Side view, no nacelles, 2m human for scale:

One of these days I might do a full starship. I'm just practicing now.
