Okay, so I was messing around in Fruity Loops earlier today, and without using any special effects or plug-ins, or anything outside the sound samples that come with FL6, I came up with this:
Click me, but you don't have to download!
Any comments/critiques would be awesome. It's still a WIP (I have to find some sounds yet), so it's only 37seconds long. But I'm happy with it thus far.

Hrm...two things come to mind.
First, it's cool that you present the launch sequence sample as a motif in the beginning, but I feel that the sample abruptly stops and the music just starts. I'd suggest doing something to transition from one part to the next. Since you are utilizing a launch countdown as a theme, it might be appropriate to do something that might invoke the image/sound of something lifting off. You could do this playing with actual sound samples, or you could create a part that does similar.
The second thing is that most of your sounds are from the mids and up and as a result, it seems your lows are lacking. I don't know if this is something you haven't gotten around to yet, but you may want to add a second, lower kick doubling the one you have now. Also play around with a lower bass line. It could be cool to start off just as you have it now, and have the rest of the spectrum be gradually introduced after some of the breaks you've included.
You're off to a good start. Keep it up.

Music can name the un-nameable and communicate with the unknowable.

Yeah, the second part I was thinking of adding in a second kick to it. As far as the launch sequence, the beginning part I think is fine, it's the second part that's giving me issues (when I use the launch sequence the second time). I haven't been able to find some of the sounds I'm looking for just yet, but I will eventually, and that should flesh it out some.
Also, at the second music sequence, I'm looking for something to overlay the current set so it doesn't sound exactly like the first part, but haven't found anything that satisfies what I'm looking for just yet.

Okay, changed it just a little, as you can see here. I'm still looking for some extra sound effects...
If anyone's got any freeshare water drip sounds, that'd be awesome.
