Some Mt. Etna pics. 56k Warning.
Some random Mt. Etna pics. We went up a few days ago to do some snowboarding and 4-wheeling.
Driving on the lava flow roads.
Needly scrub bushes, very common, very able to penetrate my snowboarding gloves.
Me.
Driving up through Lingualossa.

More images:
Looking down the mountain, towards the first aid station.
Pulling my friend's pickup through the snow with the jeep.
Two of our group driving up from the parking area.
First aid/Ski patrol
Looking up from the parking area. We drove up about a kilometer on this side of the mountain.
Ski lift, not in service.
Shot of the ridge to my right while facing the peak.
Holly, 4 wheeling in the snow.

Sweet, I recognize the shack behind the picture of you. It's like a string of gift shops, right? I got a Sicilian flag at one of them.
It looks just like it did April before last. A bit more snow then, though.
I think I asked you something in your last thread about Etna, the eruption pictures. I don't think you replied

The shops were arranged in two rows, just set up on the mountain. Pretty gnarly, I've wondered how they keep them open when it really snows. I guess it would be some serious snow tunneling action!Phantasee wrote:Sweet, I recognize the shack behind the picture of you. It's like a string of gift shops, right? We had much more snow when we drove further up, but yeah, April was definitely better for boarding.
