The thread over in OT about the crappy custom cars reminded me of a pic I snapped back in 2003. This work of art was in the parking lot at the apartment complex where I live (USA):
It seems to resemble a Mercury Topaz, but the taillights are wrong. Pontiac something-or-other, perhaps? Any ideas? This is the only photo I have. I've cropped it here (but it's otherwise full-sized, with respect to the the car itself, so I can't read the lettering on the trunk lid).
Also note the rainbow stripes going from the trunk lid all the way over the roof and onto the hood. Snazzy! If memory serves there are dancing bears above the license plate.
EDIT:
I'm asking about the car because I want to submit it to Carbage, assuming they find it worthy!
What kind of car is this?

Yes that is a Mercury Topaz, either an '86 or '87, and as far as I can tell, those taillights are stock. The taillight design is similar to that of an '88-'93 Pontiac LeMans (Rebadged Opel Kadett), however obviously not identical.

WRT the question in the OP, yeah, it sure looks like a Topaz to me.Carbage site wrote:Legal stuff
