Does anyone here listen to J-Rock?
I recently discovered Loudness and I'm not sure how I missed them in the 80's. Any other good (as in they can actually play their instruments and have catchy songs) Japanese rock/metal bands that all y'all are familiar with?
In Brazil they say that Pele was the best, but Garrincha was better

My girlfriend loves (and got me sort of into) Malice Mizer, Dir En Grey, Hide, and a little Gackt.

J-rock? I listen to a lot of it, but I don't think I'm really that qualified to make recommendations.
With that said, off the top of my head, I can name Ali Project, Dir en grey, Flow, High and Mighty Color, Jinn, Jyukai, L'Arc-en-Ciel, Malice Mizer, Maximum the Hormone, Orange Range, UVERworld, and X Japan. Of those, only Dir en grey, Malice Mizer, Maximum the Hormone, and X Japan could be considered metal, at least to some degree or another. From what I can tell, Ali Project is mostly neo-classical; Flow, Orange Range, and UVERworld are mostly alternative; High and Mighty Color and Jinn have some metal influence but tend to lean more towards alt-pop; Jyukai is soft rock; and L'Arc-en-Ciel is pure alt-pop.
As always, try them out first.

If you wanna talk Loudness, then you gotta show their greatest song.

I quite like Aikawa Nanase. I listen to her music all time. She seems to have a relatively diverse collection of songs.
