Tornado pics from 2007 Wisconsin

Post by Fire Fly »

Here's a couple of old pics of a tornado from central/northeast Wisconsin from the summer of 2007. I was visiting a friend of mine who lived out in the countryside. Some of these were taken by a friend, some by his grandparents and some by myself.

More destruction.

Satelite image showing the trail of destruction. You can see a straight line in the center of the picture.

I believe no one was hurt and estimates of the damage ran upwards of $15 million US and if I recall, it was an F3 tornado. That was my first encounter with a tornado and it really does sound like a train without the horns. Audio capture of a tornado. Needless to say, I hope that will be my only encounter with a tornado in my life.

This one looks amazing, like it's from some science fiction movie.

Those are some seriously amazing pictures :) . That lump of hail is Obscene, goddamn, it looks as though it would punch through a steel roof  .

Those shots of the bottom of the supercell powering up are amazing.

I second the notion that the hail is the most awesome precipitation I've seen all week. As awesome as nature's fury is I just hope no one was seriously injured.

This reminds me of the "We got greenage!" scene in Twister.
