ZGMF-X10B Aile Freedom Gundam
Following the end of the Bloody Valentine War, the Clyne Faction was firmly in charge of PLANT, but had few mobile suits to its name. Its most powerful MS, the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, was in ruins. To fix it, designer Erica Simmons quickly rigged it up with spare parts from Mwu La Fllaga's destroyed GAT-X105 Strike Gundam: a right arm and leg, a spare head, and the Strike Gundam's Aile Pack replacing the damaged wings of the Freedom. Equipped with the newly-dubbed “Aile Freedom Gundam,” pilot Kira Yamato flew several postwar missions for the Clyne Faction.
In Aile Freedom configuration, the Freedom Gundam had two rail guns, the Strike Gundam's beam rifle and - a strange artifact of its jury-rigged design - four beam sabers.
After completion of salvage operations on the moon, the Aile Pack was replaced with the experimental Integrated Weapons Striker Pack developed for the Strike Gundam. The IWSP's 9.1m anti-ship swords were removed because of location conflicts with the Freedom Gundam's beam sabers, but the suit retained all the other weapons of that configuration, including the shield-mounted gatling gun.
By March, replacement parts for the Freedom Gundam had been fabricated and were mounted, restoring it to its original configuration and ending the brief operational life of the Aile Freedom Gundam.
