Well, I did miss one:
War of the Worlds: The Eve of the War.
The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one... but still they come!

According to wikipedia, "the Mohorovičić discontinuity is the boundary between the Earth's crust and the mantle."
According to Starbound, it's a problem solvable with enough combat drugs to turn you into the Incredible Hulk.

well I'm a fan contrast so I'd rather listen to something you wouldn't connect to world domination at first.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

I would suggest adding The Asteroid Field as well. It has ups and downs while retaining the epic feel I think you're going for the whole way through.Nieztchean Uber-Amoeba wrote:What I've found so far, and I haven't even gone through most of these albums yet so if there are any others here that would work then great:

I was playing Halo : CE on highest difficulty with ingame music OFF and the Total War theme songs (medivel and rome) in background. The feeling you get is just epic ! Jeff Van Dyck and his wife are some of the most underrated great musicians in the world. His music can be downloaded freely from http://www.jeffvandyck.com/.
Zombie - by Cranberries works well for epic strategy game campaigns even though it should not.
Lastly have you considered Portal's end credit song (Still Alive) ? I tried that on Halo as well and it was both hillarious and eerily fitting especialy in the final level with Guiltyspark and that mad Warthog escape. Watching GS yabber futily as I smash his plan one grenade at a time with her singing in the background is funniest gaming experience since Portal itself.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
I know people have mentioned Requiems by Faure and Mozart but Verdi also made a thumping good Dies Irae.
Beethoven's Fifth, first movement, is a good if obvious choice.

If you're into irony, try playing anything out of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. There's really nothing like dropping nukes to the tune of "Hare Hare Yukai" (now that's what I call sunny sunny fun) or firing superlasers to the tune of "Koi no Mikuru Densetsu" (Mikuru is more destructive than one might be led to believe).
Linkin Park's obviously not for everybody, but at least try "Pts.OF.Athrty" on for size.

I did... sort of. I mentioned Poledouris and linked to his opening of Conan the Destroyer. The soundtrack for Barbarian is some of my favorite music for any occassion.Darth Wong wrote:No mention of the music from Conan the Barbarian?
In fact, just about anything by Poledouris would make great music to accompany your conquering.

I didn't spot anyone mentioning that most immortal piece of bombardment music, the 1812 Overture.

Led Zeppelin- Achilles Last Stand
Led Zeppelin- No Quarter
Led Zeppelin- The Battle of Evermore (This and No Quarter are both very, very good for doing the sort of sad, surreal battle sequence)

Might I suggest Land of Confusion? Either Genesis or Disturbed's version, both have a suitable feeling... If you ignore a few of the lines. Or alternatively, it's perfectly suited to those who wage war for a 'just' cause.

I'd go with the version by Disturbed. The heavy metal feel makes it better suited for world conquest. Plus Phil Collins does not go well with battle music.loomer wrote:Might I suggest Land of Confusion? Either Genesis or Disturbed's version, both have a suitable feeling...
