What do i think? I think your title gave totally the wrong impression about this thread.

I came here under the false impression it was a disscussion of sith pornography and the joys of masterbation to it but instead i find only banners of fully clothed sith. For shame.

I'm not too ashamed to admit that I thought the same thing as Crazedwraith.

My vote goes out to kojikun's pic. Nice work.

I actually thought it would be cool to collect them, and then use a rotating random image script to pick a different one each time you visit the page or hit the refresh button. The modified version was linked before, but I'll just mention it again:

http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/index-new.html

Sometimes you have to click on the refresh button a few times to get a different pic (damned thing about random number generators; sometimes they'll stubbornly pick the same thing three times in a row). But in any case, it's set up and the people who authored the various pics can tell me what URL they'd like their image to link to. Currently I just link each picture to a full-sized version, since I scale them all down to 320 pixels wide for the purposes of the page. But I could link to peoples' homepages or whatever the author wants.

Can you code for a limit to the number of times one pic can appear? It can be annoying to get the same thing over and over.

I don't really know too much about webpage design, but I can find out once school starts back up. What are you using to code the pages? But can't you cookie the pictures and exclude some when it's been hit X number of times?

A lot of people don't like cookies.

Time for a fun new game, for statisticians of all ages. :)

Fifty refreshes gives

Recruit 4 = 21
Recruit 1 = 14
Recruit 2 = 10
Recruit 3 = 5

Obviously random is only for a value of greater than 50. :D

One thing I did notice is that When 3 comes up, you really need the top of Vaders helmet as my first impulse everytime is to scroll up. However if it had the top of his head the image itself is very striking in the Righthand corner like that - the rest would probably benefit from being centred at the top of the page.

A further 20 refreshes gives

Recruit 4 = 8
Recruit 1 = 5
Daltonator = 4
Recruit 2 = 2
Recruit 3 = 1 (the first one at that).

The Math.random() function in Javascript seems to like the number 4, at least on your machine. Strange.

Righthand corner? Uh oh ... you don't see the StarDestroyer.Net banner across the top of the page?

Not necessarily. There are places on worlds, and places which are not on worlds.

Mike, he means that this image (http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/Rec ... -large.png) makes it seem like that page is partially scrolled down when it loads, because vader's head is cut off.

It's just my opinion, but "Join us or die" seems to be at odds with the theme of the page and the rest of the pictures.

Hmm the half head thing does seem to be a problem,. I hadn't really noticed that because i liked the fact that the emphasis was on the saber. If anyone thinks they are good enough to add the rest of the Dark Lord's head to my source pic, i can redo it.

Image

Edit: Or if anyone has a pic of him in a similar pose.
