I'm not sure. I've never done much in the way of studying his bio too in depth. I just know him from a few live Ozzy albums and some Sabbath stuff. Though from what I've heard he's easily one of my favorite guitarists. Although another favorite guitarist is whoever did the guitar work for Dream Theater in Scenes from a Memory. Fantastic guitar solos in that album.

Rhoads was classically trained, so much so that he was giving guitar lessons at the age of 10 from out of a local music store. He never played with Sabbath but did play select Sabbath songs live with Ozzy, something he was never too comfortable with because it contributed to the doom-and-gloom crowd that followed Ozzy from Black Sabbath.

And the guitarist you're thinking of from Dream Theater is named John Petrucci. He's a monster in terms of skill and all but has the most drab stage performance I can think of.

Prince, live on stage, with an accoustic guitar and an audience. I just loved how much 'Cream' has such a blues style to it on the accoustic that I didn't realise with an electric guitar. He also covers 'I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man', 'Sometimes it Snows in April', Chaka Khan's 'Sweet Thing' and Elvis' 'Proud Mary' (or Tina's if you prefer).

Wow. I never really listened to Prince or had any exposure to him beyond the original Batman movie. This guy knows how to entertain an audience, as well as know his music. The second part is important because he's a musician, but the first is also important because it allows the audience to feel a part of the experience.
