That's a pretty cool "chaotic" monster. Very dynamic and evocative.
Man, it's been so long since I've drawn anything other than storyboards.

If you don't like it, piss off. And if you think this is some sort of jolly rib, you don't realize how seriously honest artists take accusations of plagiarism. I nearly took this down everywhere I'd posted it in a rush before I looked up those two things (having played neither Star Craft nor Halo) and realized you were full of it.Phantasee wrote:Way to rip off the Hydralisk from Star Craft and the Flood from Halo. Stick to drawing elves, buddy.
Rye: What are you doing storyboards for currently?
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

Don't listen to him, Pick. That has NOTHING resembling a Hydralisk. I don't know about the Flood, but I don't play HALOID or something.
I mean, that THING is very WEIRD and FREAKY that I don't even know WHAT IT IS.
What IS it?
EDIT:
I like Kes. She looks hot. Mmm. MOAR?
Who is Adrasteia?

Don't listen to Phantasee, dear, he's from the Internets.
I think the spooky is rather spooky. And weird. And kinda cute. Is he some sort of unholy terror that elf parents use to scare their children? "If you're bad, the Goddess Pick will turn you into a spooky and post your picture on the internet?"
Have a very nice day.

Last two were for a rape scene and a music video. The film with the rape scene wasn't good enough to be shared (my scene looked great, mind), but this music vid look awesome, and I've been involved with every step in it. I'll no doubt spam the forums with it when it's done.Pick wrote:Rye: What are you doing storyboards for currently?

Shroom: Adrasteia is the hottest of them all. She's the one in purple on the first image of the second page.
The "monster" is based loosely on a person, only leaning backwards. It's being attached to the floor by a nose ring. Plus it has a nice cancerous growth thing emerging from its abdomen. It's unrelated to the other stuff though, fgalkin. Strangely enough, I do non-elf artwork from time to time .
Rye: Same thing I used two years ago, and two years before that: Opencanvas. I'll probably have to become accustomed to something else, though, since Opencanvas has ceased offering their programs in English.

Re: A Sequence of Artwork (by Pick) (spoooooooky)
You have to keep in mind that when Pick is talking about the elves, she tends to talk about hotness in terms of what the elves like, which seems to involve a lot of muscle mass.
Previous versions of Bemia looked basically nothing like that, though she didn't really look like one of a nation's four greatest warriors/top generals, either. Neither did Kamina or Zixer really, but Zixer is the weakest of the four and has been improved a bit, and Kamina is supposed to be easy to underestimate. I hope I don't offend Pick by linking to this amusing rendition of Kamina.

Re: A Sequence of Artwork (by Pick) (spoooooooky)
Yeah, Alan said it quite well, though there are some regional aspects to that (plenty of characters would not find Adrasteia hot so much as fucking terrifying).
And despite its considerable age, that's probably the most in-character picture I have ever done of Kamina. Who, yes, despite appearances, has among the best win:loss ratios of any of them. Aaaactually, maybe the best. Whatever, y'all know the drill, it never lasts.

Are you really Guillermo Del Toro, Pick? Because that Umber could totally be concept art for Prince Nuada.
And that sketch does really nails smug.

THIS is Nuada. And this.
Pick's elf has a passing resemblance at the most, if one only looks at the face and nothing else in the pic she posted. And even then mostly in the expression of the face.

Re: A Sequence of Artwork (by Pick) (spoooooooky)
One has to discard the horns, large ears & feet. But the complexion, facial expression as well of the style of dress and his choice of weapon remind me of Nuada. Technically, I did say concept art which of course is often very different from the finished design.
My apologies to Pick, if she feels offended. The comment was intended as complementary and I certainly did not mean to insinuate any kind of plagiarism or copying. Especially considering I'm aware she's been drawing those characters since well before Hellboy II came out.

Re: A Sequence of Artwork (by Pick) (spoooooooky)
It's no big. Actually, when I went to see Hellboy II (which I fucking love, by the way), I was rather struck by the similarity. If I'm lucky, though, at least this will stop people from assuming I ripped of Elric (who is from a book I've never even read).
FTR, not that anyone cares, but the designs for all the old guard are five years old. Some have been edited, like Zixer, but most look pretty much the same. Argus probably tops the list for completely unchanged, though.

Yeah, that picture wouldn't make sense cutting off there. You're missing the ray gun and everything. And really, what's rayguncolor.jpg without a goddamn ray gun?
