2 Purim pics. I didn't take that many pictures, believe it or not. (Or they're mostly on my camera, which is currently out of my hands )
Biology graduates + low budgets + gene therapy= self experimentation.
A really creepy guy in a santa costume. (Compact camera pic at night).
More to come once I get some pictures from the anime/manga convention I covered uploaded.

Death gets political. Taken at the Marakesh themed party courtesy of the "Waking Jerusalem" group.
Marakesh themed decorations at a pub.
Band member. (Look at the eyes).
^ One of the people signing a petition to restrict upcoming construction in Rehavia, one of Jerusalem's districts. The city has a growing problem of rich tourists buying huge apartments and leaving them empty all year long, driving up prices and reducing the amount of small affordable apartments for students.
Sadly, my flash decided to die (:( ) after less than an hour, and I didn't have a prime lens with me (and the place was extremely dark).

Good photowork . Try looking for some of Uri Gersht's tree/burnt out olive trees work, it should inspire you. Dammit, I need to find a photoshop course.

Thanks!
Taking the photo from the reverse angle puts the tree against a forest so it just blends in and disappears. I could also use a clearer, but not completely clear sky to get the tree to stand out better.

A little tinting.
I think I did this almost exact same picture once somewhere else. It seems familiar.
Feet out of nowhere. The idea is nice, but I feel the frame lacks focus, maybe if the feet were a larger portion of the frame?
An excellent opportunity for BW. (Although the frame lacks a central element of any sort. I couldn't find one).

Re: 2010 Photo-A-Day
A couple things on the last BW one, Grim.
1) Composition. The top like third of the picture is negative space with nothing to balance it. Trim like an inch off the top so that the negative space matchs that of the bottom. It will make for a better shot.
2) You do have a subject, and that's light. However, you could do more to bring that to the forefront. Consider boosting the contrast even more and push out some of those middle grey tones. With a photo like this, light and shadow are the subjects. Make them bold. What I see there is not bold, it's kind of neutral. This will also make the objects that do exist in the photo hopefully stand out more.
The 2nd is personal preference. When I shoot black and white, I prefer to push as much of my tones to either extremes without making it look cartoonish. Blacks should be black and whites should be whites. Right now, you are occupying the middle 80% of the BW scale. Try expanding your tones to get all of it.

Do you like them? If so, then "yes."Shroom Man 777 wrote:Are these any good?
Are any of them of people you know, and do they like them? If so, then "yes."
Are they 'enthusiast' photos that are at least in part meant to be photography for its own sake? If so, then "not too bad, could be better."
For instance, the people in the second one are far enough away that it's hard to see their faces, and it looks like one guy is hiding behind another one. In the first one, since the guy is back-to and also far away, so maybe he doesn't catch as much attention as he should. It is a little hard to see what is up with the fellow hanging off the buffalo's nose because of how he's right in front of the camera; his goofy face is looking away and his hands are kind of behind his head, so the 'action' and humor in the shot is kind of obscured.
If you were posing that last shot instead of taking it on the fly, you could have stepped around to the right, had the girl turn a little to her left, and gotten closer/zoomed in a bit, and it would have turned out pretty good. Like this, except better because I suck at drawing on computers:

Fingolfin, those are very pretty. The last one looks nice enough to be in a catalog magazine or something, showcasing those fancy shiny things.
I also like how the two other pics capture tiny people surrounded by grand, big things in their environment.
