Buying an Art Print - Lustre, Glossy, or Matte?

I don't have any experience with art prints except for the definitions I read off from dictionary.com and some posts I googled. From the gists of what scraps I read, it seems the size of the print as well as the colour scheme plays into what finish will look good for the artwork but I can't imagine how to tell the difference. So I put forth you this question, what finish should I get if I buy a 12x18 version of this print? Here's the originating URL

I'd go with matte or velvet to prevent glare and reflections off the darker background. Glossy can work, but then you have to get the print mounted perfectly flat behind none-glare glass or you'll have glare spots all over the place.
