The Saints are Coming has to be the dumbest music video I've ever seen, but I can see why others my find it positive. I'm mostly talking about the video itself though.

Well, I hate just about any music video that's basically just a long clip of the band playing the song in studio/concert. So my opinion ought to clear.

Jesus Christ. U2 is fucking retarded to do a song with a shitty band like Greenday.

Well, ashamed as I am to admit it I rather enjoy both U2 and Green Day, and so, the combination of 2 bands I like worked well for me. Plus there was a lot of bitchin' over-the-top CG work (even if it was kinda unrealistic, where would they put those people they winched up on an apache any way?). Plus I love the animals and that was a pretty decent rendention of the first part of HotRS.

Greeenday is not shitty. Listen to
Boulvard of broken dreams or
Wake me up when september comes. They have done some great songs.

I went to U2's concert at Telstra Stadium last Saturday. They were quite awesome, and they played the Saints ... as well.

Exactly.

Agreed, there.
That said this song isn't bad.

U2 had that awesome song on the batman forever soundtrack. Both bands rim arse for me, though, so this was pretty bad as expected.

I have heard
Wake Me Up When September Ends and the singing is appalling. "Punk rock tried to kill the metal. But they failed as they were sliced to the ground."

The song itself isn't bad, and I'm not a huge fan of either band. They both have good, and bad songs. While the message in the video is positive I feel that it does a disservice to the crews that were actually out there risking their lives to help those people.

While I liked the former and could tolerate the second one, they both got the crap played out of them so much at the behest of angsty 13-year old girls I can't stand them anymore.
More a complaint about their fans than the band, but still.

Well see, that's not a problem for me 'cause I don't listen to the radio all that often and when I do it's usually classic rock, NPR or awesome stations like WVBR (local college radio station). In short, this means that I only hear popular music if I
want to hear it and all the stupid 13 year old emo girls can have the stations play their songs all they want and not give me any trouble at all.
