So recently, I had the luck of finding someone was selling a lot of audio gear for insanely cheap. For about $5,000, I was able to get a very fine hard disk recorder, two 19" LCD monitors, a desk to fit a recording console, and most importantly, a Mackie Digital 8 Bus recording console.

This is audio love:

Unfortunately, the board isn't going to be seeing use until I relocate this summer. In the meantime, I do remote recording (as in going on site) and freelance engineering.

*whistles* That's a fine board. I'm reminded of the thirty-two channel monster we had at school last year; that's twenty-six, yeah?

Technically, this guy can go up to 72 channels if I configure across all three pages. With effects sends and returns, it's just a 24 channel, though. That aside, I'm probably going to be using it as a control surface for Logic.
