Starfleet Ground Vehicles
Inspired by a discussion on another board, I whipped this up:
http://foobar.homelinux.net/images/designs/argo2.png
I just decided to call it the Argo II for the time being. I know it's not too original, but whatever...
It's powered by a fusion powerplant. Fuel for the reactor is condensed from the air and broken down into hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis; hence, the Argo II can refuel itself continuously on almost any Class M planet. Power goes straight to four sealed electric traction motors mounted on the wheels.
The seating arrangement is 2+1.
The topmounted phaser turret is aimed manually with computer aid, using a joystick control set. The gunner sits in the third seat.
The Argo II scout vehicle's armor is heavy enough to stop most hand weapons, but insufficient against larger weapons. Windows are made of transparent aluminum. The doors are hinged in a gull-wing fashion.

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
