The Domus Publica is now equipped with an Illustrations section. The previously posted Supervillains' Convention '06 can be found there now. The first new material to be posted is from Marvel's version of World War II, featuring three of their most prominent Nazis: Generaloberst Der Roter Totenkopf, Oberst Wolfgang Freiherr v. Strucker, and Generalleutnant/SS-Gruppenführer Dr Heinrich Baron Zemo.

A companion piece is in development, but requires answers to the following questions:

• *What division patch and other distinguishing marks did members of the 1st Ranger Bn wear on the Class A uniform? Being honorary Commandos, did they wear any distinctive British insignia (officially or unofficially)?
  *To what division should Jim Hammond belong?
  *What rank should Steve Rogers have, and to what division should he belong (keeping in mind that he first saw combat before the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941)?

I LIKE the use of German ranks and terminology. ("The Red Skull" sounds so much more menacing when his name is in German. If you intend to write fan fiction, please include this added sense of menace, so Der Roter Totenkopf isn't the joke he is in the Marvel Universe.)

As for Steve Rogers, a 'House of M' side story identifies him as a US Army corporal. (Strange, considering he's described as "Captain America" instead of "Corporal America".) If you want to make him historically accurate, it might make sense to make Steve Rogers a US Army Air Corps officer serving in the Eagle squadron.

Nitpick... it would be "Der Rote Totenkopf", because auf deutsch the definite article shows the gender.

Well, you can say "Schädel" as a direct translation of skull, or "Totenkopf" for "Death's Head". Since Der Totenkopf has direct military connotations as a popular unit insignia (i.e., the 3rd SS division), it's another option.

The Invaders (L to R: The Human Torch, the Sub-Mariner, Captain America) and Sergeant Nicholas Fury. Cap's and Sgt. Fury's awards have yet to be determined (and input would be most appreciated), as is Cap's division.

Hmm, why is Namor an Admiral or some such? Or is that his rank as leader of Atlantis? Just curious. They all look great, though Fury seems to have a moustache (I'm probably seeing things there...)
