I scanned a couple of rare Macross images from the Macross Hobby Handbook

Please enjoy a Pirate and the VEFR-1 "Funny Chinese", which actually appears very briefly in episode 27 of the show. It's sorta like the VE-1 from the movie except even more obscure.

Hey, I actually remember the VEFR-1! I haven't seen Macross in a looong time, but wasn't when they we're getting about not long before Max dresses his Valk up in a trenchcoat?

yeah Lisa was piloting it when they got captured. And hilarity ensued.

First off, MISA was in a Cat's Eye and second, the VEFR-1 is only in the panning shot of the Macross in episode 27 "Love Drifts Away." I should get a screen grab because I have the awesome Animeigo DVD set.

Screenshot of the VEFR-1 from episode 27.

It's the one with the red hat.

That makes about as much sense as the plot of DYRL.

The plot of DYRL makes perfect sense. Everyone must buy Minmay's new single. Speaking of which, This is Animation Macross DYRL has sheet music for Ai Oboete Imasu Ka.

I am surprised that Macross World says they would pay $100 for the 86 reprint of the Perfect Memory book, since I picked it up at a Half Price Books in Minnesota for $10 back in October.

Certainly makes me feel even better about finding it. :)

Hilarious. It makes me feel nostalgic about the 80s. (Such a simple time...)

Most of the Macrossworld was written way before the whole intarweb revolution of buying and selling stuff so most of their prices are horribly out of date. Like they say the Hobby Handbook can be had for about $60 and I bought it for $15. Also one of my friends said he saw it for a low as $5. Sadly, Shawn stopped working on the site and all Graham does is post on that shitty BBS.

Well that's all kinds of unfortunate.
