7. The addition of wheels would gain two more points. It's just not a fire truck without wheels!
The cookie/icing ladder is awesome.

Nothing round I had that would work as wheels were the right size. (Made it look like a monster truck)

What did you use to make the warning lights? Is it some kind of jelly or just icing?
It also looks fantastic.
EDIT: Or maybe hard candy?

Why didn't you just ice on some wheels? Or use some Oreos--they look like they'd be about the right size....

Oreos were too big and ran out of black food coloring.

The front looks a bit on the choppy side, and a teensy bit lopsided but not bad otherwise.

Try mixing green and red next time. If the mix is brown, add blue. Subtractive colors sum to black.

not perfectally. Most of the time you end up with diarea color. better safe then sorry. Perhaps on monday I will see if I have time to buy some mini oreos.

That's one hell of a cake there, man.
But you know what would make it even better?
If the fire-truck was on FIRE.

That's awesome! I particularly like it when the TINY fire truck cake is placed on the HUEG fire truck's bumper, with manly firemen posing around it.
If only it were possible for pictures to be taken of the cake when it's being held by firemen going down that firepole of theirs...
Oreo wheels?
(SDN is awesome. We have dudes who are, like, military-defense consultants like Stuart. We have dudes who obsess about nuclear weapons while being surrounded by cute furry dogs and ferrets like Shep. And we have guys who make awesome CAKES!)
