ok, my roomate kept insisting that "Behind Blue Eyes" was about Batman....

when I went out and read the lyrics back to him, he kept insisting that "Badman" was "Batman", groans.

anyone else have any long standing misunderstanding of lyrics stories?

"No one knows what it's like, to be the Batman."
Your friend is dumb. :)

wiki wrote:The lyrics are a first-person lament from a man in the Lifehouse story, variously identified as 'Brick' or 'Jumbo', who is always angry and full of angst because of all the pressure and temptation that surrounds him, and the song was intended to be his "theme song" had the project been successful. (The lyrics of the rocking section near the end were actually written by Townshend as a prayer when he was a disciple of Meher Baba after being tempted by a groupie, and incorporated into the song when it was written.)

The version of "Behind Blue Eyes" on the original Who's Next album was actually the second version the band recorded; the earlier version appears as a bonus track on the remastered CD release, which features Al Kooper on Hammond Organ.

My friends and I always disagreed about Nirvana lyrics, though that's understandable, considering that it probably took me 5 listens of Smells Like Teen Spirit to catch the first verse.

As to the original version of Behind Blue Eyes, I hate the placement of the guitars far to the left and right, the imbalance just ruins the whole song for me.

Off topic, here's the advert at the bottom of the screen right now: "Atheism against the law? Scientific proof that atheism requires a belief in miracles."

I had to take a few minutes to convince a girl in High School that it's "Sad but True" not "Sand Patrol," the Metallica song.

After playing Guitar Hero for a few days on end, I had "Strutter" stuck in my head afterwards. While singing it around my parents house during a family get-together, I hit the line: "Everybody says she's looking good (or whatever)" and my brother busts out with "DESTROYER" instead of "Strutter."

In his defense, the title of the album is Destroyer, but convincing him took quite a while.

It never ceases to amaze he how many people still think "Keep them Separated" by The Offspring is about sex, rather than stupid high school kids beating the shit out of each other. They still argue with me even after the line "getting weapons with the greatest of ease."

I still don't know what the Hell he's saying in that song. I'd swear it's something like after "I feel stupid, and contagious" he says "I'm mullato, and mosquito."

Wow, after Googling the lyrics, I actually wasn't far off. I guess I did enough drugs back in high school to understand Kobains rantings:

"Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido"

I loved the sketch in Saturday night live where the lyrics to "Come as you are" were originally "Courtney put down that gun"

*sings*

There's a snowman, waiting in the sky,
He'd like to come and meet us,
But he thinks he'd blow our minds...

An argument over how the Pink Floyd song title "Astronomy Domine" is pronounced almost came to blows once.

Moron...
