Favorite Regimental Song?

What's your favorite military regimental song (or any other specifically military tune, including cadences)?

I'm partial to Men of Harlech, used by the Royal Welsh Guards in the UK, and the Royal Canadian Hussars (although I don't know if either of those units still exist, what with shrinking manpower budgets...)

My favorite version is the John Barry's arrangement from Zulu although the lyrics used in the film are inauthentic.

If your referring to the 8th Canadian Hussars, they still exist as a Reserve formation. Their an armor unit.

I've always been partial to Scotland the Brave.

The US 7th Cavalry's Gary Owen (I know its an English song) is cool. I also like the WWII German panzer march Panzerlied.

I actually did get blood on my risers, once (first free-fall solo jump; poor head/body form).

Yes it is, I've mentioned it before but there's nothing like a regimental pipe band. Stirs the heart it does.

You know, me and Brungardt discussed the various service songs last night. I came to the conclusion that the Army has the lamest one.

I've always liked "Blood on the Risers" because it is rather amusing. "Anchors Aweigh" gets points just for the alcohol reference, if you choose to count it as a military song.

I do like the Navy Hymn best of all though. Just something about it, I dunno...

dammit this is not fair, (than again what is fair in war)

there's so many good ones to choose from, even more if you include revolution/outlaw ballads.

hmm, do age of sail chanteys about cannonballs, and blowing away masts count?

because if they do? "Coasts of High Bar-baree" is a most kick ass naval tune.

This sucks...this sucks, because there's so many of these songs I like, but nobody here would know them

But, what the hell, two of my favorites:

"Karpacka Brygada" (The Mountain Brigade) - very melancholic, written by a soldier of the 1st Independent Mountain Brigade during their operations in North Africa.

"Szturmówka" (The Assaulter's Song) - happy and upbeat. In fact, I'll try to translate it as best I can
