AC/DC vs. Metallica

No, I didn't get this idea from Beavis & Butthead's T shirts. :P

Just vote for which of the two you prefer. I know a lot of the members grew up in the 90's, and Metallica was still putting out shit... err music... so maybe that gives them an advantage? I dunno...

I know a lot of people make a distinction between the "old" Metallica and the "new," but for the purposes of this thread, try to count the band in its entirety.

I'm not particularly fond of either, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd choose Metallica, simply because I dislike AC/DC more.

I'm no Metallica fan, but 'old' Metallica is much more enjoyable than 'pop' Metallica. And I say AC/DC, because I'm Australian dammit.

Who are the cowards who voted "both suck ass?" At least take credit for your shitty taste in music...

Damn right.

They probably voted, and then put on some Winger or Foghat... Yeah, FOGHAT!

I can not in good faith make this choice. I could puss out like Stark and chose the home team but that is not acceptable.

AC/DC has rocked harder and longer than anyone.

Metallica redefined heavy metal.

AC/DC has never changed their style and people call them old and stale.

Metallica constantly changes their style and people call them sell outs.

They have both rocked me in my youth and today.

I will NOT make this choice. Damn you, Superman. Damn you to hell.

Hey, I would have chosen AC/DC anyway: they have got me laid way more, and I've never been a big Metallica fan. :)

AC/DC have never wasted time with highly publicised lawsuits, so they get my vote.

Ouch. Good point. In fact, Lars was one of key players in the whole start of the prosecute downloaders crap.

You guys know that Lars originally came to the States to play tennis, right? Bwahaha...

No comparison. AC/DC did the goddamned soundtrack for Maximum Overdrive. Instant win. In fact, they could get into a debate WITH Metallica about anything, and just go "Maximum Overdrive" and Metallica would have to stomp away from the podium like a pouting, scorned 8 year old.

I'm going to go with Metallica. The AC/DC screamy-singy can get pretty annoying at times (though listening to "Whiskey in the Jar" three times a day, five days a week is no less infuriating).

Plus we killed their bassist, so...

I find AC/DC boring and annoying to listen to. There's a few Metallica songs I like, consequentially Metallica win.

The same. Master of Puppets (S&M) or No Leaf Clover easily beats (pwns, even) anything I've heard from AC/DC.

While I like Metallica a lot I don't think it's even close. AC/DC all the way.

Back In Black being one of the best record albums of all time.

AC/DC. There are few Metallica songs I like, but several whole albums from AC/DC that I like pretty much in their entirety.

Metallica is dead as far as I'm concerned. Viva la AC/DC!

80's Metallica is pretty good, but even that is bowled over by Brian Johnson-era AC/DC. With Bon Scott? Acca Dacca, no question at all.

AC/DC will always be connected to a partyload of drunk teenagers having a great time, while Metallica will always be linked mentally to aging 'rock fans' expositing at length about how awesome they are/were, or teenage guys 'rocking out' to Metallica while I fuck their girlfriends.

Wow, Metallica is nearly as bad as Korn in that way. And I mean no disrespect to Metallica. :)

You're onto something here, AC/DC is loud fun party music while Metallica is loud depressing music. I like both bands, but sad to say when I think Metallica, the image that generally comes to mind is either bunch of teenage losers in trenchcoats or a bunch of grey-haired Hell's Angel bikers. Sadly enough, those were also the two main groups when I went to a Metallica concert.

I wouldn't bother with either, personally, Rob Zombie superior headbanging/party music ftw.
