Does anyone know where one can find a clear and detailed picture of a major's uniform in the 95th Rifles, circa 1812 or so? It is need for use in a project featuring a gallery of late 18th/early 19th century heroic characters (e.g., Horatio Hornblower, Jack Aubrey, Christopher Syn, Percy Blakeney, etc.).

Unfortunately not. The level of detail isn't high enough for use. By comparison, the other characters (such as Rear-Admiral Sir Horatio Hornblower, seen below) are readily identifiable by rank, as can be seen:

Are the guys in the bottom image re-enactors, or is that from a movie?

The Osprey Men-at-Arms series books are excellent, and they cover the period in great detail.

Friends of mine used to be heavy into Civil War re-enacting. Then they took up WWII re-enacting, and I joined them, doing that. It was fun, for a while.

Sorry Frank, it was in poor taste; I apologize. It was not done with malice nor does it reflect my personal feelings, but it was most definitely poor judgement.

You can't understand how indescribably infuriating it is to see the word "fag" used in any way, anywhere.
It's not hurtful, not simply insulting, but it's enraging.

When, like in Team America, it's so fucking dismissively used as a shit-assed joke, it's worse.

That it's so universally accepted as a term of derision for anything, without so much as a thought, illustrates where I truly stand in society at large; allow me my delusion that things are different here at SDN.

It's one of those things that really can't be understood without the experience of being a target for it.
