Anyway, are there any other fans of this great group here? If so, which is your favorite song? Also, are Paul and Storm on their own any good? Worth buying albums?Declaration of my feelings for you
Elaboration on those feelings
Description of how long these feelings have existed
Belief that no one else could feel the same as I
Reminiscence of the pleasant times we shared
And our relationship's perfection
Recounting of the steps that led to our love's dissolution
Mostly involving my unfaithfulness and lies
Penitent admission of wrongdoing
Discovery of the depth of my affection
Regret over the lateness of my epiphany
(Chorus)
Title of the song
Naïve expression of love
Reluctance to accept that you are gone
Request to turn back time
And rectify my wrongs
Repetition of the title of the song
Enumeration of my various transgressive actions
Of insufficient motivation
Realization that these actions led to your departure
And my resultant lack of sleep and appetite
Renunciation of my past insensitive behavior
Promise of my reformation
Reassurance that you still are foremost in my thoughts now
Need for instructions how to gain your trust again
Request for reconciliation
Listing of the numerous tasks that I'd perform
Of physical and emotional compensation
CHORUS
Acknowledgment that I acted foolishly
Increasingly desperate pleas for your return
Sorrow for my infidelity
Vain hope that my sins are forgivable
Appeal for one more opportunity
Drop to my knees to elicit crowd response
Prayers to my chosen deity
Modulation and I hold a high note...
CHORUS

Da Vinci's Notebook
Perhaps the most clever A Capella group I've ever run across, I just fell in love with another of their songs, "Title of the Song."

I haven't heard any da vinci's notebook songs, but Paul and Storm are pretty good. I wouldn't buy any of their albums because, the albums are somewhat hit and miss imo. They do have some absolutely great songs like "better version of you" "six guys, ten teeth" and others. All their music is available free streaming from their website, so you can check them out there if you want.

With a nod of the mouse to Miss Z, for originally turning me on to Da Vinci's notebook, I offer one of the funniest and most cheerful songs in the world:

Whenever life gets you down
Keeps you wearing a frown
And the gravy train has left you behind
And when you're all out of hope
Down at the end of your rope
And nobody's there to throw you a line
If you ever get so low that you don't know which way to go
Come on and take a walk in my shoes
Never worry bout a thing
Got the world on a string
Cus I've got the cure for all of my blues (all of his blues)
I take a look at my enormous penis
And my troubles start a-meltin' away
I take a look at my enormous penis
And the happy times are coming to stay
I got a sing and a dance when I glance in my pants
And the feeling's like a sunshiney day
I take a look at my enormous pe-e-e-nis
And everything is goin' my way
(whistling)
(ad lib solo)
PE-E-NIS
(end ad lib solo)
Everybody
I take a look at my enormous penis
And my troubles start a-meltin' away
I take a look at my enormous penis
And the happy times are coming to stay
I got great big amounts in the place where it counts
And the feeling's like a sunshiney day
I take a look at my enormous penis
And everything is goin' my way (my trouser monster)
Everything is going' my way (my meat is murder)
Everything is goin' my way (size doesn't matter)
Everything is goin' my waaaaaay
yummmm

Another one to watch for is Internet Porn.
"Girl, on girl, on girl, on girl, on girl, on girl, gril, on guy, on sheep."
The Paul and Storm I've caught on Bob & Tom is pretty good too. See if you can find the one about the fighting nuns or "More than two".

I now am the proud owner of all three Da Vinci's Notebook albums I think Brontosaurus is the one to get if you're only interested in buying a single album, but they're all great.

All I know them for is "Ballad of The Sneak" from Homestar Runner.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Do you mean a comedy group or simply a capella? If the former, I don't know of any others. If the latter, Rockapella and The Alley Cats are a good place to start.

I love "Title of the Song". "Internet Porn" is also fantastic. The other one I have is "Enormous Penis", but that one I don't like as much. I'd love to get more of their stuff though. I've got a huge thing for comedic music.
Anyway... if you just want good a cappella, try The Real Group. They're a Swedish vocal jazz quintet- two girls, three guys, but one of the guys is a very high tenor. They do some original stuff (including a surprisingly earnest song about making chili), some well-known jazz songs, quite a few songs in Swedish, and miscellaneous covers (they actually have some great Stevie Wonder covers).
I don't know of too many singers that immediately strike me as incredible musicians, but all five members of The Real Group clearly are. Rockapella and Da Vinci's Notebook are all right, but The Real Group is on another level musically. The harmonies are tight, the voices blend beautifully, the vocal percussion is understated but perfect for a jazz context. They should be far more well-known than they are.

Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things... their number is negligible and they are stupid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
