Now to give credit where credit is due, Academia Nut originally posted this over in the 'STGOD' section of gaming. But, really, this NEEDS to be spread to the world! What is it?

Vikings + RockMusic + Giant Transforming Robots = Pure Awesome

The title is a bit misleading but I enjoyed the vid.

I found it at TVTropes under Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot and the subsection onf Web Animations. That page, plus things like Awesome But Impractical will help me out a bit in this STGOD.

If I bring the Fenari into the new STGOD, We humbly request "Immigrant Song" and "No Quarter"

As the resident space vikings already, I was planning on having the "Immigrant Song", although I suppose I could let you have since you did say it first.

well your already in there as space vikings, and the fenari are genetically engineered wolves who are space pirates/yankee traders.

I don't get it, but I like it, especially the "bjorn to rock" tattoo.

edit: does anyone recognize what song the main riff is sampling? I recognize the elements from Blood, Sweat, and Tears' "Spinning Wheel", but not the rest.

I don't get it either, just that it's... fitting for my STGOD nation. Who are space vikings that fight with laser shooting guitars.

And they have giant robots simply because giant robots look cool.

I'd have to defrag my head to make room for any STGOD threads, but I agree that space vikings with laser shooting guitars rule.

And I've always thought that Everybody Loves Giant Robots would make a great band name.

There's a certain Metalocalypse episode where that essentially happens. Except that the guy is flying, and shooting dragons that are chasing him, whilst shredding out an awesome solo.

EDIT: Here's the scene in question. NSFW.

According to a post on the site it is Blood, Sweat and Tears' Go Down Gambling

Metalocalypse is definitely in the design idea, although my space vikings are so over the top they would probably consider Dethklok saints or demi-gods rather than full blown deities. They would definitely have a cult though, and a fairly large one too.

Metalocalypse is on the list of shows that have had me consider getting cable again. It's been over a decade, so yeah, Metalocalypse rocks, especially when shooting dragons whilst shredding \m/

Due to the extremely high levels of stoopid that YouTube video comments usually contain, I rarely read them any more :?

But yes, Go Down Gambling is the main element present here. I recognize Spinning Wheel, and apparently, there is a third BS&T song in there as well:
Jason Forrest wrote:For some reason, my parents seemed to only love bands with “&” in their name. And one of these was Blood Sweat & Tears. This is cut up from about 3 of their songs, and cut with more stuff to expand it. Anyway, BS&T fucking rock man. They were progressive in a very grassy way. You always see them in corduroys. This is some how related to why this is called War Photographer. If songs were people, then this would be a late 60’s war photographer with thick dark hair and beard, draped in olive and khaki photographers gear.
So, let's recap:

Lasers.
Vikings.
Dragons.
Giant robots.
Battles in space.
Heavy Metal shredding.

If this thread gets much more concentrated awesomeness in it, it just may go critical.
