Drawings Out Of Your Style

OK, so this started as a gag sketch for my fiance, but I went ahead and finished it. My first manga style artwork ever. Hence the title of the thread Havime.... Havok (me) and anime (crap). See, I'm all clever and stuff. :P (havanga sounded lamer than havime)

ANYWAY. I was thinking, a lot of the people that post art here have very distinctive styles. I draw Marvel style comic book characters, The Muffin King does Mecha/Robots, Publius does realistic figures, etc etc... I thought it would be cool, and expand all our horizons, if we had a thread where we can step out of our styles and experiment with different or new styles.

This is my first attempt. I know, not too much of a stretch for me, but it is a start.

Anyone else wanna play?

Edit: Changed the title so people could figure out what it was easier.

Aside from WW and Powergirl's horrendously HUEG boobies, that's actually Pretty Good! Supergirl looks great!

It's certainly a departure from what you usually do, and it actually looks pretty good (it's pretty goddamn weird, but it's well drawn strange).

The most hilarious part for me is Powergirl's Robotech hair. Go 70s animation stat! :D

If Madureira never finishes Battle chasers, you can take on Red Monika any day!

... It took me a second look to be sure Supergirl was wearing underwear.

The Shadow, the Spoiler, and Batgirl [3] drawn in the style of Batman: The Animated Series.

Perhaps a few other characters might be ripe for adaptation (the Girl Wonders Stephanie Brown and Carrie Kelley, for example, and Red Robin from Kingdom Come). It's rather difficult to modify one's style so drastically.

I see a nice "terms of service violation" image.

I see them just fine, and they do indeed look like the style of the 90s Batman: The Animated Series.

Here's another manga style WW. My fiance likes these so apparently I will be doing more of them.... One thing I notice as I draw this way: It allows me to break the rules I have in my head on what stuff is supposed to look like. It's kinda freeing. It's also more, just an exaggeration of my own style than anything else though I think. P.S. Drawing ginormus boobs is fun.

I dig those. :D

Question: Do you find it hard to cut out detail like I do? I actually have to go back over drawings and erase quite a bit of it when I am trying to go for a simple style like TAS or Manga.

I tried a chibi mech. Not much of a departure I know, but I'm trying!

I've got to dig it out of the attic and take pics of it, but I have a "Godzilla Temple" Box that has the big G done in various ancient Styles: Medieval, Sumerian, Chinese and Myan.

It got moved and then forgotten...

Now, I just need to find and figure out how to work the Digital Camera...

Hav, I know you're just using this as an excuse to draw WonderWoman's tits like that.

It is maddeningly difficult (notice for example the Shadow's scarf). When one has drawn a certain way for 20 years, it becomes a trifle challenging to draw in another style altogether.
