So, today I was bored and got tired of video games. Since I was in no mood to write I've deceided to move outside and to justify that to myself, I've taken my camera to do something productive while at it.
This is the fruit.
Please note that the camera is not very good with composition, as the viewfinder was off and the LCD display was useless in the sunlight and I used automatic focus and lighting.
Since the things are way too big even for my connection, I'm posting thumbnails.
A view from stepping outside. The trees are blossoming and soon will gain their leafs.
Note the cars. There is rarely free parking space, a fact that my dad often bitches about.
My error here: the lamppost is in.
Some old apartment buildings from the Soviet era that are being renovated by replacing the old (and usually non-functional) windows and outer walls with more sound-proof, heat-proof ones. And ones with better colour. Of course the colour will quickly fade, but meh.
Should have bent it just a little to the left.
Nothing much here, except a pretty tree. I challenge you to identify it.
Here is an error I recognise: I should have held the camera more upwards. There is little point is photographing the floor.
A shopping square. Just to note, my area is essentially a circle of apartment buildings and this little shopping square is in the middle of it. The idea was from city-planner's I guess. I recall an architectural following that follows such a functional ideal.
You can see the people beside the supermarket. Often, old or/and poor people will sell their eggs, flowers or even salvage here when the market isn't open (which is in the morning of two days a week).
Should have gone closer. The cars are in the way.
A little heaven behind the shops. There are some bird cases here and no squirrels. It's a nice little green heaven, where homeless often like to go at night as the shops still give off some heat and they are partially protected from the wind and rain, as well as some concealment due to the lack of lighting of this area.
The same area from a different perspective. It isn't much of a place of comfort, isn't it?
Between the buildings, there are parking lots and playgrounds with trees. When the apartments were built, allot of trees were planted. Now they bud and bloom.
A yellow flower that was blooming. I again, challenge you to identify it.
Should have made a little distance with the camera. Also, my hands are shown as they hold the branch in the wind. Actually, this isn't a very good picture.
More flowers. Better photo then the last one. Identify it if you can.
I've actually modded this picture a bit, to redeem it from the fact that I photed in opposition to the sun and I didn't give enough time for the camera to adjust.
It's 23:43, and I am a bit tired of waiting for Imageshack to put up my pics, so I'll stop now. I'll post more pictures tomorrow.
Any criticism is welcome, as long as it is constructive and with the consideration that I am a pure amateur.

HEAVY METAL 4 LIFE!
(btw, warise I will tell you as soon as I identify them, I am going to need a book)
A statue near my home. The words below it is "Corpus Hungaricum" in case you can't read it.
This was actually a more difficult picture then it seems. There was little space to properly frame the thing. Still, I am a bit unsatisfied with it.
A close-up of the same statue. I wanted to show a detail of it.
A nearby temple from the side. Notice the style. It's a renovated temple. My guess that it was originally a Roman-styled temple.
There are allot of temples in the city, as it was once the place where Hungarian kings were crowned thus it was an important location. Naturally, every Christian Order wanted a spot in the city.
The same temple from the front. Rather imposing, isn't it?
The description reads: [A] Strong castle[,] is our God.
The description makes a little more sense if you know a bit of our country's history.
During the 1241-42, the country was raided by Mongols led by Kahn Batu. The entire country was pillaged, the Mongols having siege weapons. Only the stone castles stood by the time they left.
After that, King Béla the Fourth ordered every greater landlord to build a stone castle.
The decision came handy later, when the Turks invaded. For quite a bit of time, it was only Hungary standing between the Turk Empire and the rest of Europe.
The temple's tower. I originally wanted to photo the whole front, but behind me was the road for cars and it was busy.
Just a little to the left.
EDIT: Gah, hit submit instead of preview. Bare with me.
This is from a nearby park (note that I consider anything with 10-20 minute walking distance "nearby"). The ship is supposed to represent Earth going on its pathway in the sea of stars.
I am unsure whether the mast is supposed to be a crucifix or just a mast.
The same from a different perspective. In the background, is the Jury building of the city.
The front of the jury building. I was lucky with the wind so it now shows the flags.
A picture of the park.
Notice the bird. I wish I can identify it. It's hard to get a picture of them up close. This one was digging for worms.
Enchanté?
This was a really lucky picture. I was only a meter or so away.
Waka-waka (or alternatively paku-paku).
An old Gazeboo. I forgot what it says, something about the place built in the late 1800's.
The Lion, a symbol of bravery in many European cultures.
The description reads: "Our fallen heroes of the Székesfehérvár's 17th infantry regiment. 1914-1918"
A small street. This picture was a bit tricky as I had to stand in the middle of the road while there was traffic behind me.
There are two things that are noteworthy here:
1. The trees. In some areas of my city, there are streets where you are warned that the tree branches reach into the road and damage large cars.
I wonder what was the guy who planted them was thinking.
2. The amount of cars. You may notice that there are more cars then houses. There is a parking lot down there, which is full.
This is an increasing problem: the city was not planned to support this many cars. It's core area is from medieval times and in Soviet times, the city-planners just assumed far less cars, as back in the Soviet era, a car was an enormous prize. Few people could afford it and most were government-lended anyway.
Traffic has been slowly over-flooded, not to mention the nightmare it is to get a parking space. The government is trying to keep up, but the city was simply not built and designed for this.
I find it quite ironic that we have the highest tax on gas and still, ever since the Soviets lefts quite litearally everyone and their mom wants a car.
A tree blooming in front of a pharmacy.
I don't know what to say about this one. Pretty?
This is a public fountain. It gives drinkable water. Allot of people come here, old and young.
Székesfehérvár is above a pool of mineral water. This is a cleaned version of it.
Tree. It's nice, isn't it?
The remnants of the wall of the amusement park, that now has become more and more overgrown. Now, just some graffiti and crumbling buildings stand where there was once a place of joy for many children.
Green is good for you.
Ducks. Ducks are nice to watch. This picture actually shot a couple.
The funny thing is, that this is next to a lake that is too small for anything bigger then a row boat and Hungary doesn't have a seaside.
There. I'm done.

Great pics. Nice variety.
I have a question, however...
That yellowish jury building is quite striking. You were lucky to have the bright sunlight hitting it. It came out very well.

Are those bells, or lights arranged above the fountain? If they are bells, how are they rung? They seem to be placed rather inconveniently for ropes, etc.Zixinus wrote: This is a public fountain. It gives drinkable water. Allot of people come here, old and young.

They use electric ringers that ring on a regular times. I just don't know the times.

Each bell rings differently, and form a tune when they are rung.
