The synth at the beginning sounded dumb as hell, but once it got going and that man and his glorious voice kicked into high gear, all doubts vanished. The arpeggios and guitar work overall just reeks "Glenn Tipton", with the Marshall tube tone and pinch harmonics all over the recording. I expect great things from this album; even the comeback "Angel of Retribution" has aged well, upon revisiting it. This band is far from done, they've had a second chance to relive their prime.

Sabbath may have invented metal, but Priest perfected it. That's all there is to that.

The synth didn't bother me so much (remember Beyond the Realm of Dreams?), and the rest was indeed very good, hearkening back to Painkiller. It just somehow seems to lack that same raw energy, or even that of Judas Rising. And let's not even mention the album that had the razor blade on the cover...

That said, it's very exciting, and although I initially wanted to disagree with your statement about perfection, to bring up DIO or Maiden... but I just can't. I think you may be right.
