My first Spore creature...

Well, checked my email and the Spore Creature Creator trial version was available, and since I was interested in the game I downloaded it and decided to play around.
In about ten minutes of tinkering around and trying out stuff, I made this bad boy:

Suffice to say I absolutely love the editor, it's exceptionally easy to use and figure out, and best of all despite my misgivings about the editor being limited to cute and cuddly critters, I was able to make a jet black scorpion monster.
I've also made my first primate and will continue to fiddle around and see what else I can make. And to think I could make this creature with the trial version and limited options!
Kick ass!
Consider the game already sold to me, Spore Team. Great job!

There are at least two versions of Trogdor the Burninator.

Not to mention creatures that look like they are two creatures having sex with each other (like
this one NSFW). So I can't help but imagine the controversy if one of these things slips through the moderation process.

There are a frightening amount of
penis monsters on youtube.
This is mine, called a vortolon.
I wanted it to look like it could've come from Xen, so 3 arms and compound eyes around a big eye.

The dancing penis monster is cute, though.
Linky NSFW
Reminds me of the following radio station commercial:

I attempted to download it. I got it unloaded, installed, but then I clicked it to start it running.

In the spirit of Star Wars, I gave it my best shot at making a Rancor:

Naturally I couldn't get him as good as I wanted, but given how quickly I could throw him together, it isn't half bad.

What hardware? The graphics don't look to be of hugely impressive detail...

Here's what I've made with the trial version thus far.
My scorpion-like creature:
A unicorn (I was wanting to give it an ant-eater snout):
Generic Dinosaur:
Hydra/The Beast from Revelations having 7 heads and 10 horns:
Weird thing with lots of eyes and limbs:
A dragonfly/flamingo hybrid:
A multi-jointed ape like thing:

I don't think so. From what I remember, the creature system was developed in a really funky way.

Here's something a bit silly:
It's supposed to be a Chaos Marine... don't tell the inquisitors.

Having played around quite a bit, my scorpion creature is still my favorite, and thus I felt the need to upgrade him even further. I'd like to think this will be my final version of him, and the one I'd like to explore the Spore worlds with:

Picture 4
I tried to name the creature fittingly, and therefore call him "Scorpobarberous".

Spore requires a Shader Model 2-compliant GPU with 128MB of RAM. Looks can deceive.

It is indeed a fairly sophisticated method and also takes into account things like the skeleton of the creature, which most 3D models lack (and even if they had one, the program would probably have no idea how to interpret it)

Umm, if your talking about skeletal animation, that's been around for a really long time now
Or is it something else?
