There's a bit of a debate going on in WWI hobbyist circles about that. One camp is of the "there's reflection in original phtotographs" the other is "weathering, weathering, weathering." I kind of straddle the fence, however last night on Discovery Wings channel they were showing original footage of the Albatros factory, and the fuselages were downright glassy! They were varnished plywood, but look at that shine. Doped linen in RL also produces a gloss effect on museum AC.Warspite wrote:WOW, that's amazing! The details are amazing... There's a hobby that beats doing drugs.
Now, if he could take a little bit of shinyness, so the planes don't look so plastic.
Right, but those were planes right out of factories, or for museums... When they get to front line airfields, they probably end up loosing the gloss due to the weather. Anyway, a little bit of weathering never hurt...Frank Hipper wrote:There's a bit of a debate going on in WWI hobbyist circles about that. Oh c'mon! What's wrong with you? Don't those long, hard, glistening wooden fuselages do anything for you? Think of all that fabric, stretched real tight!kojikun wrote:No cold showers for me!
Did you see Koji's post in the AT-ST Kama Sutra thread? That was the funniest damn thing I've seen in a while.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:SHHH!! Don't encourage the pervert, Frank!!
Well, the reflection might have more to do with the CG medium more than anything else.
I'm putting this in my sig..kojikun wrote:I find that reflections and speculative are often overdone in CG pics that try to be realistic. It irks me to see humans that are too reflective. heh.
I also find that AT-STs and planes would probably have great sex but that borders on aerophilia and gods know thats sick. =x
