Does my homemade Flash work?

I just tried using ffmpeg to create a Flash movie manually (previously, I had used canned software). Does this work for anybody but me? I'm viewing it on the same machine I used to create it, and that often creates a false impression of success because this machine will obviously have the same codecs for playback that I used for encoding.

Same here. Tested in Firefox, Chrome, IE7 and Opera.

Formating is Broken in Chrome, and the large size in IE7 (I'm running at XGA res - so that's on my end).

Thanks for the feedback. Time to see if embedding works:

Your new dog really is cute. Posters could use upgrading or removing though, but that's just my opinion of gym decoration, if that gym's inside your house :P. (Hulk Hogan, wasn't it?).

All movies work for me, embedded one included.

All three, plus the imbedded version, work fine in Safari for Windows (a Firefox variant IIRC).

The same with AOL Desktop, although I doubt there will be many people using that program.

Works fine for me in Chrome, though like MariusRoi said the formatting is broken, in both your personal and Creationism vs Science websites. I think that's Chrome's fault, though, as I've never had that problem with any other browser.

Firefox and working just fine here. Your wife looks hot as hell. As you never fail to remind us all. :)

Impressive gym too.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. And yes, I do happen to think my wife is still hot :D

Anyway, I'm glad you guys pointed out the problem with Chrome, as it turned out to be a simple fix. I was declaring the stylesheets in XML for XHTML 1.1-capable browsers, and it seems like Google Chrome ignores XML stylesheet declarations even though it's an XHTML 1.1-capable browser. So I altered the headers to use the LINK REL tags for the stylesheets in all browsers. Could you please let me know if the problems are resolved on your end?

Looks good now.

Only thing is, that wasn't the breakage I was talking about :P

I've taken a screen shot to show what I ment

Image

There is plenty of space on the other side to center it. I don't know how hard this would be (I stink at XHTML), but something to keep in mind.

I only tried the top one, but it worked just fine in IE on Vista 64 bit. That diamond shape bar for deadlifts is interesting, I've not seen one of those. I've only done and seen deadlifts done here with dumbbells or straight bars.

Congrats to Rebecca on beating her chronic fatigue syndrome. My wife's on blood pressure meds and they're sucking the energy out of her something fierce. We're working with the doctor to see if another medication will work, since despite daily walks and exercise she crashes when she takes the medicine.

That seems to be a function of the minimum margin it wants to allow for the DIV that I'm using as a container for the Flash movie. If your screen resolution isn't big enough to fit the movie, it will maintain a certain size for the left margin and it will allow the movie to spill over the right-hand side.

Your wife is hot, and nice Ahnuld posters (they are appropriate)! Her working out totally reminds me of Sarah Connor.

Good afternoon Doctor Silverman, how's the knee?

I actually told her a while ago that she was getting a bit of a Sarah Connor look, and she didn't believe me. I videotaped her in part because she can't really see herself when she's exercising, and I thought it might help motivate her to see that she's actually building some muscle.

It's called a "trap bar". Once you use it you'll never go back to the straight bar deadlift. It's easier and it won't scrape up the front of your legs, unlike the straight-bar deadlift. That's especially important for women.

It seems like all of the really powerful medications have really powerful side effects too.

OSX and Safari/Firefox work, and to CountChoucla, what places use the straight bar, I mean we have it as an option at my gym, but normally I plug in the diamond bar to work out.

How did she take to it? :)

You should totally get her to record you doing your own callisthenics, topless and pouring body oil on your glistening pecs! :D

(It would be, like, the awesomest thing ever.)

I mentioned it in passing a couple of times, but I didn't talk much about it.

That's a damn impressive gym Mike has there. In terms of resistance exercises it looks better stocked than the one they have at Midtown Tennis Club. Hell, ignoring stuff like running and cycling machines it seems as well or better stocked than most gyms period.

Works under Safari 4 beta, Opera 9.63 and Firefox 3.0.7 + Flash 10 on MacOS 10.5.

Browsers should work fine in general, it's Flash that you're really testing (granted, most people are probably running Flash 9 or 10 these days)

iCab is a small niche browser for the Mac, though the newest versions use the WebKit rendering engine.
