Here's a model of a very famous ship. Guess it without cheating.
Hint: It's not what you probably think it is.

First turbine propelled ship. Forgot the name. Inventor was something-Parsons. Probably wrong though.

WRONG! The Turbinia was a much smaller ship (kinda fast patrol boat), for less than 4 persons, and wasn't armed, with the exception of a small gun at the bow. (I think...)
Note also, the American flag, and the guns placed in broadside. I'd say it's from the 1870's, 1880's... What is it?

The Merrimac?

I'd guess USS New Ironsides, but she only has a seven gun broadside and lacks sailing gear.

As expected, SeaSkimmer got it.
U.S.S. New Ironsides, completed in 1862. If you look closely at the model, you can make out a closed gunport. She carried two 50-pdr rifles on the upper deck, as well. Her sailing rig was cut down sometime after completion. Enjoy your cookie, SS.

Again, can we get answers posted in a less conspicuous color so those of us who aren't on 24/7 have a shot?

Sorry, consider it done. Better yet, I'll PM whoever gets it right.
