Need advice with some drawings

Post by Davey »

I'm looking for some advice.

I never really got any schooling in drawing, and it seems I've developed a number of bad habits. I could use a few pointers here and there, mainly where it comes to drawing faces and hands. I'll do my best to practice in the meantime, but, here are a few of my drawings. Most are in various stages of completion.
These are all high-resolution. Not for 56k!

This one here I've been working on right now. It's Lara Croft from Tomb Raider about to get curb stomped, Gears of War style, by an character from an all-original project I've been working on for the past little while.

Edit: I did some more work on the last drawing. It's still unfinished, but the other character's head has been inked in.
"Oh SHIT!" generally means I fucked up.

In the first one, the chin and neck are all wrong and the chain is too regular. In the third one, both characters' arms are way too long, especially above the elbow. I don't see anything technically wrong with the last one, but the character on the ground looks like she's upset that her garden got ruined by a rainstorm, not like she's about to die. If you widen the eyes so that the iris is just completely visible between the lids and open the mouth slightly, the expression will be fear.

Aside from that, I don't see anything. You're a damn far sight better than me, that's for sure.
