Nah, it's supposed to flipdown when the nukes are used.

Here it is without the goggles:

The mask and goggles come in way to far where they meet at the bridge of the nose.

The neck of the man is undersized, also. However, I don't know if that would effect your design significantly.

So is this being used for something specific, or just modelling for fun? Looking pretty good, either way.
