I love carving pumpkins, and this year I decided to take on the ultimate challenge: The Death Star.

I'm afraid I don't have any progress pics, so please enjoy these pics of the finished project.

All in all, it took me about 8 hours to get it all done. Carving pumpkins and watching TV is a great way to spend an afternoon.

That's very, very impressive! Did you follow the method that was posted up on here a while ago? I think it was linked to by DW, but I'm not real sure.

Yes, I actually used that website as a reference. Break the pumpkin down latititudinally, then further into offset squares 1-2 inches, and customize each square.

"How will keep our house from getting egged if we don't hand out candy?"

"Fear will keep the trick-or-treaters in line, fear of this battle pumpkin!"

Incidentally, I won the carving contest. Got a plastic trophy and a $10 starbuck's card. I don't drink coffee and it was STILL totally worth it.
