Here's a w.i.p. of a potential android soldier. I was inspired heavily by the Battle Android Trooper from G.I. Joe.

Looks more like a suit of power armor.

Even I can tell that the armor plates are not fully articulated.

It even looks like it has straps for armor plating on the upper arms. The only thing leading me to think robot is the hands.

Given the bulk of the armour itself, it looks like the person underneath it would be a bit slender to carry all that weight easily.

I wanted to emulate the Battle Android Trooper from G.I. Joe, I've always loved the original design. My thinking behind this was also to have an adult male sized android/cyborg capable of utilizing a wide range of human equipment in concert with human soldiers. The equipment on the android is basically ballistic and flame resistant uniform fabric using contemporary and/or near future personal armor technologies for both protection and load carrying.
The uniform protects the unit from dust and dirt infiltration...but it is intended as a primarily aesthetic feature. The armor components are similar in protection to NIJ level IV rated against AP and are intended to act as an ablative layer designed to negate the effects of light weapons and to further protect the reinforced frame.
Load bearing Web gear is utilized as a cost saving measure for weight and tactical flexibility. When designing this, I had no intention of internal magazines or armored storage, I think it looks cool as it is. I know that internal storage and a different armor lay-out would benefit a combat android immensely, as would the use of tracks or wheels for locomotion.
I hope that clears things up, thanks for the comments!

Pretty cool. How big a android do you imagine him being? About the same size as a typical human?

Nice work. Very technical; I like how precise your linework is.

Yeah, I imagine that the android would be about 6 ' or 1.8288 m tall and about as a large as a fit adult male person.

Thanks! It's been a long time since I've drawn anything and I'm glad to not have totally lost my skills.
