This masterpiece of frosting, cake and cookies is presented in honor of the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The house stands on a waterfall and is delicious. The sugar cookie worked perfectly to create the famous cantilevering balconies and terraces. Every part of this cake is edible. This was made for four birthdays celebrated together. My dad, and two of my younger brothers share the same day, another brother was born two days later so we as a family celebrate them all together.

Please excuse the terrible lighting

The both of us worked together on the cake. I had my brother whom knows the house and terrain very well help with the putting together of the cookie house and the layout of the waterfall. I decorated the hills and Tim did the water as he knew best the layout of the river. I decorated the waterfall's details. The house is made of honey sugar cookies and the cake is a Yellow Cake.

As always comments are always welcome.

Magnificent, and no doubt delicious.

My only complaint with such wonderful cakes is that they look too good to eat :D

Your cake put this in my head:

How did you manage the cantilevers? Is that just naked unaided cake holding itself up?

The house is made of sugar cookies.

Wow, that was just beautiful

My only question is why you did not attempt to decorate the cookies to closer resemble the house? Would that have been too much work with icing? (I would think a thin piping would work well for the windows)

We weren't able to get the windows to work and our reference photos we had didn't have enough detail to get more then the main windows. We unfortunately didn't have internet access in order to get more and the scale of the house made extra detailing that much more difficult.

So how did it taste? :)

Very good. The best was the house. The recipe I use for the Honey Sugar Cookies is very good. It is posted in the recipe thread already if you're interested.
