What the hell is Third Children anyway?

The Evangelion pilots are refered to singularly as Children.

Rei Ayanami is the First Children, and she's refered to as such because she's a series of clones that use the same soul.

Because her nature is extremely top secret, NERV refers to all Eva pilots as Children. Asuka is the Second Children, Shinji is the Third Children, etc...

Heh, the dumb thing is that in the dub and subtitles, they're called "Child".

Which makes it a little silly when you read "Child" while hearing "Children".

And watching the dub you would totally miss that aspect. Stupid ADV...
