We are all usually used to the styles our favorite anime characters originally came with. But sometimes it's interesting to see how a different artist may view that same character.


Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo for instance, in her normal style:

Aside from the eyes, I think the different one's done pretty well.

Interesting to say the least...

Although personally I think that if the redone character is practically unrecognisable, why even bother?

It's still a lovely image, though.

You can still tell it's Ryoko from the hair, the eyes, the ears, and that gem earring.

Yeah, I know. I was more speaking in the general scope of things with that part.

I can for the most part tell that it's still Ryoko (and I agree with you on the eyes issue, they could have more defined element separation). It's just that she's really close to the borderline that then slips into unrecognition.

Snowboarding in a bikini? How like her.

The 2nd one is certainly different. And yeah, the eyes do need work.

Heh, I just looked at the first picture for the first time, since I figured it was just Ryoko done as the Masaki Kajishima-based versions (like in the four main series) were.

Just now found out it's the silly looking manga version...

As dorky as it sounds I think Ryoko is one of the most sexual (and sexiest) anime characters I've ever seen.

what the hell is with the glasses in the second one?? Nice drawing and all, but definitely not Ryoko.

I agree with you there totally. And Ai Orikasa's voice is absolutely beautiful. She's always been one of my favourite VAs.

Looks like the 2nd one got a major boob job (or damn good pushup bra) among other things...in any case I find the 1st one to be a lot sexier. Interesting....

I think the dub VA was just...annoying...

I thought Petrea Burchard did pretty well. She just can't compare with Orikasa.
