Considering the recipiant, I think I'd take that as a compliment, Kojikun. ;)

Anyway, I think it's interesting, considering I've been thinking of doing something similar with static and interferance with animated gifs.

Um, that's not what I meant at all.

I realise that I didn't make much sense there, but I was just making a jab at you. I was trying to mean that considering you and some of your antics, you should take it that she called it merely annoying as a compliment. :P

ahh. :p

Show me some of your static gif experiments, i like static. it has a kind of grungy Orions Arm feel.

Here's one I made an hour ago, for the Stormie vs. Redshirt thread:

I love Paint Shop Pro.

I think he meant me, YT3. And that's not static: it's just random shit.

Well, I haven't done any yet. That's why I said I've been thinking about doing some and not that I've been experimenting.

I'm busy doing something else right now, but I might have something within a day or two.

Well, one I was thinking of involves intercutting Asuka in EVA-02 with an image of her maggot-ridden corpse from End of Eva...

describe how you want it to play out, beginning to end

by Spanky The Dolphin
Well, the entire thing would have static throughout, but shaking vertical lines would interrupt the main image and quicky show the corpse (maybe with the main image flickering back quickly in the middle) then shaking vertical lines return to the main image. That's as best as I can describe it now without going to extreme nagging nitpicking detail.

explain shaking vertical lines.

A bit like you did with second image in your OP, but more and with greater intensity.

o.0 you mean have bands showing the image appearing over the static?

Posted: 2003-08-10 10:46pm
by Spanky The Dolphin
Fuck, I meant horizontal lines. I do that sometimes...

but you want them like the brighter parts of the static in the pic-a-card avatar, right?

by Spanky The Dolphin
Yeah, sort of. But maybe a little more defined.

I do plan on actually doing this myself once I figure out how to do static, though.

Photoshop 6.0 and Image Ready.

I wonder if that's what sabacc cards would look like, given that they are electronic and even shift faces during play.

I personally dislike both of them. The first is too bright and the second is too distracting.
